The thing I don't understand is the rumour they called him back to our pressure on us to sell them Stewart. He can't play for anyone else now this season apart from us, so if we don't want him he's going to be in the U23's. They get a pissed of young lad who's seen his development stunted, we get to keep Stewart and hopefully two other forwards
Stewart (or any other player worth their salt) can't be going to a side who's fans are chanting sack the board, especially if they are adored by 40k fans here and banging in the goals. Of course money talks, but I'd be having a word with my agent if the best he can do is Everton. If they come down this season they will be the next Derby........or worse.
Agreed. If a better move doesnt emerge that works for club and player, he'd be wise to sign the best we can offer, get another ten or a dozen goals this season, then a lot of doors will open.
.Nice club to go to mind if you're a player. Big bucks, long contract and when the manager realises you're ****e, you can just maintain that a different manager signed you and the new one doesn't fancy you. Then rinse and repeat with someone else.
I've seen simular happen at another club and it's right there just can't bring it to mind! Anyone like to help? We weren't obviously paying these kind of fees but we were doing the same signing players, changing manager who had a different way of doing thing so signing more players rinse and repeat. It's why Rodwell actually moved on after us with other clubs saying oh well it was Sunderland I'm sure he will be fine here. Glad we now have a structure in place where the manager changing will have little impact on that side of things!
If you actually take the red and white specs off and take a step back, what the club are doing now actually makes sense. You employ a coach for the players at the club and who want's to bring young players on in the game rather than a manager bringing players in from former clubs or players they've wanted to work with and even it goes tits up down the line you're left with players who don't want to be here
I know it makes sense it's the way to do it! Turnaround of managers being so frequent these days should have put an end to managers signing players they wanted as they probably won't be at a club for the duration of that players contract and if the next bloke doesn't like him then best go out and replace with one he does. This to me was part of ANs problem he wanted to sign his guys and thought after promotion he would get his own way!
That's unreal. I forgot Yannick Bolasie existed. You could only really put Pickford and Richarlison in the complete success category. Onana looks like a top player who'll have a good career. After that, Iwobi, Allan, Keane, Mina and Godfrey look like Everton standard players who no-one else will pay that kind of money for. They're in a very strange place at the minute. Fans are pissed off, owner isn't interested, manager is ****e, players ware a collection from the previous 5 managers and a new stadium which could either be the start of a new era or the anchor which takes them under.
I like Simms but I worry that we might hang on hoping to get him back and miss out on other signings (and maybe him too)!
not been announced yet but seems nailed on By all accounts Villa wanted him more or less guaranteed starts so I doubt we’d have had a look in if we’d tried. I reckon Boro might catch Sheff Utd
This early in the season it's nailed on one of the top two will fall away, United look the more vulnerable to me.
