It's Sunderland fans that are saying Simms isn't good enough, not Lampard. Lampard is giving Simms the opportunity to become a Premier League footballer and is giving him a chance. It's up to Simms whether he can take it or not. Simms has played plenty because of our injuries, but do you think he's going to start the majority of matches here in the next 6 months? Why not be on the bench and get some minutes at Everton instead?
He won’t be able to play today. Transfer window opens tomorrow I believe so he’s unable to play for anyone else before that kicks in
Think that’s his level sadly. I haven’t eeen anything to say he’d make it in the championship. Love the lads effort but, ability wise, I’ve not seen anything to change my mind. Be happy to be proved wrong mind Me too. Think, fully fit, Broadhead’s easily good enough fir the championship.
I think Yates would be a good signing. When Critchley was in charge of Blackpool he liked to play a high press and Yates was very good at it and not too dissimilar to the way LND constantly presses and harries the opposition. I think he would do well in our team.
Everton have spat the dummy out because there has been a u-turn. Simple as that. Let's just wait and see what develops re a particular strikers contract. Chess has been getting played.
Sorry if it’s been mentioned, haven’t caught up with the thread, but I saw simms has been recalled because Everton have no strikers, and then today DCL is back starting. so all in all, simms has gone back to Everton, and probably won’t even be on the bench. Ffs.
Everton have fooked us over, in my opinion. Day before a match, he can’t even play for them today, yes I know it’s their prerogative to do so, just leaves a sour taste in my mouth.
True but he’s also playing in a very poor team. Better players are better with better players around them. I watched him tear Arsenal to shreds last season before he got injured. Definitely good enough imo
Better players always stand out in poor teams aswell though mate. Keane is never short of a goal for them despite their inadequacies. Time will tell, I'd like to see us bring a top drawer striker in at this level that will give the whole place a boost and push on for our promotion charge
He was, when Diamond did play pre season he played in a scratch team of mis-fits, and according to pundits on RN both Howey and Gabby praised his performance running the channels repeatedly despite getting little to no service . I don't know whether he will make it here or not but he deserves a chance imo.
I would think that purely because of the uncertainty surrounding Ross Stewart's future, that Speakman has been busy scouting strikers for quite some time already, so we should have a list of current possible signings already . If so, I would expect movement on this pretty quickly.
It did cross my mind. Stewart staying after Everton thought they had him. They spit the dummy. It is just a daft conspiracy theory on my part. If it is true though it will reflect badly on Everton in terms of how they treat young lads.
Lampard spoke about the lack of forward options from the bench. Simms has been recalled to sit on the bench, rather than starting a match. It's a shame for the player, but he has to do what his employers tell him to do I suppose. I think Simms will not be a happy man returning to Everton where he is very unlikely to get a start.
