In all seriousness , I aren't going to pretend I didn't want him to stay or that he was ****e, because I did and he wasn't - but the way we folded like a pack of cards on the last 3 games makes his departure a touch easier , particularly the palace debacle - it means we lost a good manager but not quite the untouchable messiah it looked like we might lose - good luck to Marco tho , no hard feelings from me

Why do journalists never ask the pertinent questions such as, was it Silva or Ehab that decided the one year option would only be triggered if we survived in the Premier League?

Well I suppose there is the so called 'Champions' League. I don't follow it but I'd guess that's more of a longshot than winning the Portugese League.

chances of him repeating what mourinho did at porto aka winning europa league and champions league are about erm zilch

he will be a success there if he wins something that is not the portuguese cup

league or european trophy only

Totally agree

According to the Portuguese press, he's got a meeting with Porto this afternoon, he's going to listen to what they have to say, but his preferred option is still to stay in England (in the Premier League).
Even though we went down with a whimper his 'preferred option' would be to manage a premier league club. Good luck with that. He would be better off doing a Benitez with us but it seems Silva's overdeveloped sense of self-worth will probably get the better of him.

He's currently unemployed and is going to go with whatever job he feels is the right move for him, that's not an 'overdeveloped sense of self-worth', it's common sense.

Who the **** thinks a job in the English second tier, working for a complete bellend, is better than managing Porto?

Well put Lammy - the lack of perspective from some posting here is absolutely ****ing mind boggling.

wonder if he will take any of our lot with him?..

I don't think he'll take any permanent contracts we have, at a push - maybe Clucas or Hudd.

Although, Clucas' fee wouldn't represent value for them.

Can't recall a British player doing well out there. That said, I can only recall Gauld and McPhee playing in Portugal.
