Should Newcastle replace Eddie Howe

If Howe stays, Nunez would be the exact sort of player that would fit into our side.

1. Very fast
2. Works very hard
3. Great personality that the fans would love
4. Has goals, assists and versatility in him.

Cons -

1. Can be inconsistent with finishing, but give him enough chances and he will score and create. He's not a 25 goals a seasons striker, he's a 12-13 goals and 10 assists foward.

Also worth mentioning that Salah was main character at Liverpool... Nunez might get more here plus pens if he took them.

Truth is I don't expect us to sign anyone even remotely exciting under the current manager.

If Eddie howe went shopping for lunch he'd come back with a vanilla ice cream, water, ready salted crisps, an egg sandwich, and an apple.

Those kind of boring signings?

Can people who want Glasner and Irola please give information as to how they wouldn't be a side ways step?

Tbf I think Iraola did excellent things in Spain and then brought that here. I’m not convinced mind that he’s a leap forward and I’m of the mind that Poch is probably the most aspirational for me, that we can get.

Inzaghi, Motta, I don’t think we’ve got the squad or the cash.

Doesn't matter who is an upgrade, downgrade or a sidestep. Fact of the matter (incredibly), is that Howe will still be manager at the start of the next season. This despite taking the club backwards a minimum of two years.

Yep because getting into the CL and winning a domestic trophy for the first time in 70 years was definitely taking the Club backwards!!

And Villa and CP basically showing up Howe and Newcastle. Both in European finals and CP have basically pissed on our chips. Fans think we/PIF have done good......... C- I stand by.

Not this season it isn't, which is actually what matters. He has taken then club back a minimum of two years and I would say more. What happened 12 months ago is history and you lot need to wake up and smell the coffee

Totally irrelevant to my post and the post I was responding too. And in any event, getting to a final of tournaments that we aren’t in and are classed as weaker than the one we were in shows absolutely nothing except that you’re twisting anything to try and have a dig.

So why did you, not me, initially refer to the last 2 years. If you hadn’t referred to the last 2 years then I wouldn’t have posted as I did. You just need to wake up never mind smelling the coffee.

Come on your not that thick are you? I said he has put us back two years at least. That's how long minimum it would take to get back into the position we were. Certainly won't happen at all with Howe in charge either.

Let’s be fair here the ECL is on a par with the Intertoto that we won and the EL is massively weaker than it was previously when Champions League teams dropped into it. Last year’s final showed that.

The Europa is far easier to win now than the league Cup, but it's still considered a bigger competition.

PL clubs will dominate this year on year... It's who lands in it wins it pretty much.

Having said that emery has had real problems to face with psr. Had nowt last summer and finished one place behind Newcastle last season. They have repeatedly had to sell key players.

Villa have acomplished more than Newcastle now, because they're successfully competing in 4 competitions.

Newcastle even helped them out in the summer.

Last time we didn't qualify for the CL we won a domestic trophy for the first time in 70 years and qualified for the CL the very next season. Are you saying you wouldn't be happy with that outcome? Also, would then be a step back for 12 months not 2 years ie not in Europe for one season. Try to keep up at the back, please.

You're not going to get that with Howe. You are that thick :1980_boogie_down:<laugh><laugh> it will take two years to get back to that position at least, with the **** signings he has made. Absolutely ****ed £250 million in the transfer market. What that has to do with 12 month ago is irrelevant. Unfortunately the sack will be too late coming next season. He's not a top manager, never has been and never will be.

Tbh we might not get back in the top 6 ever again for all we know. There's hope, but nothing more at this point.

Not going to get that with Howe. <laugh> <laugh> <laugh>

We already did. Or have you been asleep for the last 14 months. If he’s done it once, he can do it again. And as he’s the only manager in my lifetime to win one of the major domestic trophies, I’m willing to give him a chance. Unlike the ‘entitled’ who amazingly seem to think we have some God given right to win trophies and qualify for Europe.

We should be qualifying for Europe. If Palace and Forest and Villa are/can then, after spending close on £750m on players in just over 4 years, that is my expectation and should be for any other person. I have said it before, just because we won a league cup, doesn't mean we take our foot off the pedal. After winning that trophy that should have been the catalyst to strive even harder and push forward but no, we have gone backwards at an alarming rate, because of awful judgement and neglect from management over the last 14 months.
