Should Newcastle replace Eddie Howe

He’s just been interviewed, he’s dodged all culpability effectively and convinced his bosses of the same; that no DoF and no chief exec were the biggest issues and nothing that came to pass was his fault.

Quite how they’ve glossed over everything in his favour is difficult to understand.

TWENTY ****ING SEVEN!!!! Points dropped from winning positions this season - that's inexcusable.

The nearest team to that are Palace (2 points behind in the league with a game in hand) on 17 points dropped - even that 10 points difference would have us sat in 6th today.

I appreciate that is not entirely down to Howe but the in game management is a large, very large part of it. I just can't see how you can get it that wrong that many times.

This shows just how far out some of us are when it comes to who Newcastle can attract to replace Howe.... I'm guilty on Mourinho, but at least I wanted him I suppose.

It's edging back into the Howe in brigade, because whoever comes in is not going to be particularly exciting anyway, and I don't really buy into the managerial thing anyway, outside, new coaching staff, a new feeling, and reaction from the players.

There's loads you could go for Iriola, Glasner, Maresca, Frank etc. all just from the EPL this year I think could do better than Howe. Really push the boat out for someone like Alonso - he'd probably have better offers but if he wants a gig like Leverkusen again we'd be a decent proposition ahead of somewhere like Chelsea where he'll inherit a large squad and have players bought for him, lots of ego's etc. He'll probably end up at iverpool if they sack Slot but worth a punt.

Chelsea are after Alonso, so we'd have no chance.

Are the other names really a big improvement?

Fabregas might be with a punt...

Hoeness as a next big thing punt I agree with, but I’d go for Poch as a bigger, more immediate name who’s available straight after the WC.

Edin Terzic or Thiago Motta as outside opportunities.

Still it’s irrelevant, club will wander on listlessly with Eddie Howes Black & White Army playing on repeat as if that chant, rather than results, squad value and performances, is the marker for success.

I'd definitely take a punt on Glasner - FA Cup, Community Shield and Europa Conference* in 12 months is a ridiculously good year for him and Palace. Basically leaving Palace because they won't reinvest as they develop and sell players which he'd get here. Frank did well at Brentford, shafted at Spurs, Maresca would be a decent shout for me and had a decent record at Chelsea (59.8% win rate, recording 55 wins, 16 draws, and 21 defeats over 92 matches ) and contacts. Hoeness and Fabregas - 100% I'd be in for. There's options out there for sure.

Unfortunately she's left this mortal coil, however I'm sure, through a half decent medium she'd listen to your collective sh!te with an impartial ear and offer sound advice on how to get your lives back on track

She'd whisper in your ear....... Howe is ****e, you're backing the wrong horse, think of an exit strategy so you can say you knew all along when the **** hits the fan!

Actually had a thought about something else Howe did. He sold Anderson, because when we had the lad he didn’t know where to play him, then subsequently paid £55m for a player who froze him out of his best position. Funny how that’s something else that isn’t howes fault and instead is a PSR issue.

I think the **** really began when Ashworth left...one signing since then has worked out and that's Thiaw.

I'm still hoping it's the mananger though and that when someone else comes in the players all look brand new.

Sorry for your loss Jim! Your great great granddaughter was a wonderful lady.

I'm sure a medium can put us in touch. For a price of course...
