What amazes me is that we sack a manager minutes after a game, with no plan A or B as to who is taking over from him. I assume his sacking was discussed some weeks earlier and if he didn't get that win against Bolton he was history. Given that, you would think any chairman worth his salt would have someone lined up....But this is Sunderland....let the misery be dragged out for a while longer, whats another few defeats eh!!

Its always difficult for players to move upstairs to manage the squad they've just left mate. The players don't see their manager, they just see a mate wearing a different hat. It can be difficult to earn the respect of the squad.

I'm sure there must have been a few who've done successfully but I can't think of anyone.

JOS would be a disastrous appointment imo.
I'm not disagreeing it was my (emotional) view but your point makes just as much sense :emoticon-0148-yes:

I think they had one eye on the calendar when that decision was made mate.

One game caretakered followed by the international break gives them some breathing space to find someone before the next game.

Lets see Burley....I really don't see any substantial movement and thats a worry. He cannot mess this appointment up.
