I can't believe how accurate the makers of this video are . I love Monkey Dust!
Yep it all took the willing suspension of disbelief theory several tads too far! Total crap. Cage seems to be the star of choice to attach to turkeys like that because some people will watch anything he is in. Wish I could get the 100 minutes of my life back that I wasted watching that total turd of a film.
! Started off pretty slow but got funny as hell. I liked the subliminal message to buy the soundtrack too.
I've yet to see him in the remake of 'The Wicker Man', but I would imagine it absolutely murders the original.
I think this sums it up:
The thing is the acting was really wooden in the original (although the film was great anyway) but to actually manage to make the acting worse is beyond belief. Nicholas Cage has to be just about the worst actor around. Only Tom Cruise or Richard Gere are worse. Even Ben Affleck can just about out act him despite being pants.
Everything you said there is so true, Nicholas Cage is a disgrace to acting and the fact that he has been twice nominated for an Academy Award goes to show how worthless that accolade really is.
Totally worthless indeed. As proven by Cage's nominations (as you say) and I'll add the hype that Tom Cruise was going to win for the Last Samurai (rumours circulating before the film even came out just because hollywood had decided they wanted to honour him) and they had to do a hasty u-turn when everybody saw how **** he was in that film. Even the extas acted him off the screen. Watanobe gave him an acting lesson and a half.
To be honest the Oscars mean jack ****, if you read about some of the stuff that studios do to promote their films to the Oscar panel it is certainly not based on how/what was best but how much you promote it, how popular you are in hollywood, if the film is oscar material (and that is nothing to do with the quality).
Yeah it's awful how poorly the whole thing is organised, makes all the hard work of worthy winners seem meaningless. I don't even want to get started on the number of incredible independent films or films from outside the US that are far more worthy of prestigious awards than the garbage that wins at the Oscars too. I suppose Cannes often dishes out awards in a more sensible and worthy manner but even that has succumbed in recent years.
Like you both say the Oscars are a film industry clique self congratulation rim-fest more than a legitimate awards ceremony. The Brits seem to have alot more integrity as do Cannes, Montreal, Berlin and the like, although they all fall for some of the over-hyped industry favourites. I'm with you skalpel. Give me an independent or world cinema film over a hollywood blockbuster any day of the week!

I think AVB is feeling a bit left out http://www1.skysports.com/football/news/11668/7368034/Villas-Boas-sets-celebration-rule
I'm not trying to start a Nicholas Cage defence force but the reason he is in so many crap films is because of money troubles. He is actually a decent actor when he wants to be (Bad Lieutenant, Leaving Las Vegas e.t.c) but half the time he is just doing it for the paycheck
With regards to Nick Cage, I'd like to point out that Con Air and Face Off are two of the best films in the world
