Cheers Jimmy. Every time I speak to a doctor they tell me that my strict health regime of living off coffee and cigarettes are bad for me. It was a bit of a scare, so I have decided to take the situation seriously. I am making it my new year resolution to speak to less doctors from now on!
There is a 'Nev Update' thread a few pages down the list which will warm your cockles with everyone's concern for you.
Van Gerwen v Rob Cross at the world championships. What a ****ing match that was. Cross through to final in his debut season and playing Phil Taylor in his last ever match. Great stuff.
One of the best I’ve watched in ages. Taylor doing this would be the greatest story of all. I wonder if he would have 2nd thoughts though...
No, I think this is it whatever the result. He says he just doesn't have the enrgy to keep competing at the age of 57 anymore. It would be an almost equally impressive story if Rob Cross wins it in his debut season. Rewiring houses 12 months ago - some rise to the top. The pro-Taylor crowd helped Cross tonight but it will be the exact opposite on Monday. I'm probably going to have a flutter on Taylor if I can find decent value. With all he top seeds going out it just seems set up for him. Fairytale ending to his fairytale career.
I hope so as I think he hasn’t got that drive anymore. The cards have fallen right and at 57 he should enjoy his retirement. I only speculate as you know what sportsmen/sportswomen and their egos are like. The boxer who can’t stay away, the footballer who clings on dropping through the leagues. It’s like a drug. Hopefully he has had enough success to say thanks and goodbye. To be honest I think trying to match MVG has drained the life from him in recent times. Cross is a great story. Poetic in some ways if he hands over to him. He had a similar scenario all those years ago. Plus the background to Cross wiring houses 12 months ago. I have to say I want Taylor to do it. It would be a fitting end. If there is any value in Taylor I’ll be all over it betting wise.
So Stoke get their 4th option in as Manager... http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/42689053 "His appointment comes after Stoke failed to land any of their top three targets. On Sunday, Republic of Ireland manager Martin O'Neill rejected the chance to take over at the bet365 Stadium, after Gary Rowett signed a new contract at Derby County and former Watford boss Quique Sanchez Flores decided to remain with La Liga side Espanyol."
Cheeky ****. Gets caught with his hand in the cookie jar and plays the victim. Should not even be allowed to work in football after his behaviour. Been dogged by this before. He’s got ****ing Teflon for skin, the ****ing lizard.
