TWTD thinks that Alan Shearer has been interviewed (TWTD is usually right). I don't think there's much about Alan Shearer that we don't know, so to my mind if I were to interview Shearer that would mean I would want to give him the job (may not be the case for Clegg of course).
Immediately all of our reactions would be that he's another Roy Keane, a very high profile appointment. This time I can't think of anyone better. Alan Shearer, like Keane, knows about graft, commitment and quality, but unlike Keane, Shearer wears a smile and appears to have man management skills beyond that of a caveman.
Id say I'd be pleased. Thoughts?
