What about Michael Johnson at Man City on loan. He clearly wont get much of a look in at Eastlands and is only 23. Worth a gamble?

I'd rather not. Used to be quality, then dropped down the pecking order and started enjoying MLT's old favourite combo of pints and kebabs, sadly with not quite the same skill.

I know he was supposed to have had gambling problems etc. However, sometimes a change of club and feeling wanted could have a big impact as a few years ago he looked the next big thing. Taking him on loan would not be such a risk and Man City will not miss him.

Maybe worth a punt on loan but he'll be on a lot of money at City, and I wouldn't want us to take him on loan and paying him more than we do any of our other players for it.

We need someone who is not afraid of a tackle and dosen't mind getting a few cuts and bruises along the way. In the same role as Lee Cattermole, just with a bit more intelligence.

I think Maynard will be good in the Premier League in the future. I would like Sharp but I don't think he's a Premier League player. I think £4m for Maynard would be good business in the long run.

Dan (great name by BTW!) I have a funny feeling that we are now in the position where buying the right player is more important than their value, within reason of course. Like many of us, my attention hasn't been on the Championship recently so I'm not well informed about either of these two but I have a feeling that if NA said this to NC that we'd end up with Maynard. You get what you pay for.

Maynard is definitely worth paying extra for. Sharp has no no pace and is very similar to Lambert. Maynards speed and finishing is ideal for what we are lacking in the striking department, he is also younger than Sharp so he is worth the Investment. On another not year before last I remember Sky Sports doing a feature on the best prospect outside the Prem and Maynard finished first and I presume his progress has only been halted by the injury he had last season. Even if we did go for Maynard we would have to be fully committed to buying him, which we obviously aren't, because other clubs like Leicester, Forest and West Ham are going to be throwing money at him all over the place if their interest eventually lead to accepted bids.

Sharp isn't similar to Lambert FFS.

Sharp is more similar to Barnard, but faster. He's a great finisher, much like Barnard. So basically Sharp is an upgrade on Barnard, and if I'm not mistaken, Lambo and Barnard work pretty well together.

If we had the money to choose though, I'd go for Maynard purely because he has tonnes of pace and is a good finisher. Only young too.

McCoist is trying to push the deal through according to SSN. Why Danns would want to go up north and play park football I have no idea.

What I mean is he's lazy and a good finisher just like Lambert he's not gonna run his socks off for you like Barnard does and Sharp has always been like that, and also I think he likes a pie or two similar to Lambert.

Have you even see Sharp play? If so it was probably when he was at Sheff United, which was a ****e period for him. How you can say he's lazy beggars belief. It suggests you know little about football. And Lambert looks pretty slim for a guy that likes his pies, don't you think?

How can a lazy player score 15 goals in 30 games for 2 seasons running?

No I've never seen Billy Sharp and I've never seen Lambert before sometimes I just post words I think of and send them in hoping I can one day make a setence. You act like your opinion is the onlyone that matters so say what you like about me, its not going to bother me. Anything over 2.5mil for Sharp is too expensive we should look at other players maybe not Maynard if they are asking for 4.5mil like I saw in the papers this morning.

I think Le Tiss is an example of how you can be Lazy and score goals. I think sharp is a brilliant finisher and he will score goals no doubt but we want someone who is going to fly through defences to take flick ons from ricky I just think we have 3 excellent finishers in Connolly, Barnard and Lambert who all in my opinion will cut it in the Championship and thathat we should add something we don't already have
