Seems desperate for a goal! Think he's been a bit unlucky so far but has shown some quality. How many goals will he get this season (in all competitions)?

Seemed dissapointed to come off. I was disapointed he came off. Look really good today, and think he'll hit a few goals soon.

Let's not forget it's a new role for him, like it was a new role for Rodrigeuz when he started.

I really like Long. Him not scoring only becomes a problem if the rest of the team doesn't score. He is a unselfish player, and works ever so hard. Useful bit of pace too. Remember, playing wide of a front 3 is something he is getting used to.

He's probably had to work on his crossing for his new position. His crossing is better than Shaw's!

Does it matter? If the team wins when he plays then he is doing a good job.

I agree with this. Football has evolved to a point where more is expected from attacking players than just goals as strange as it is to say. It is why players like Darren Bent and Javier Hernandez never became key players

He creates more space for Pelle to do his thing. I don't think it is a coincidence that Pelle's worst game (West Brom at Home) was when his main support came from Tadic and Davis with JWP playing the central link role that Davis excels at.

Also I'm pretty sure he has had at least 2 very good penalty shouts turned down (one today)

Should get us quite a few penalties this season, same with Mane. Didn't really have a penalty winner last year apart from maybe Lallana.

As Long as he buys into the squad ethic he should be fine, he won't start every game and there some games which won't fit his style, but in other games he will be a real nuisance, if he gets goals that will be a bonus, just creating the opportunity to get results will do for me.

I like Long...he has pace and confuses the opposition. He keeps going close, so will get goals in time. I feel for him, especially today when everyone was scoring. His problem will be that Mane may play ahead of him, but Ronald does seem willing to give everyone a chance as he believes that you have to keep everyone's eye in.

We've just won 8-0 and you focus on a player who hasn't scored. In my opinion, which I voiced, it's a ****ty thread.
It's a general thread. I'm focusing on how many goals he will get this season, not on his duck so far. Probably made the thread because he looked really gutted when he came off, regardless of the scoreline.

I've voted no goals. It wouldn't surprise me. Equally, it wouldn't bother me; he takes two or three defenders out of the game on a regular basis, which is just fine with me as it leaves loads of room for everyone else.
