The inclusion of Sessegnon never altered my decision to go to the match ....... I go, whenever I can, to support the club, not individual mercenaries.
What we have lost is a player that only turned up for 50% of the time and for the rest of the time we were a man down and NO he was not good enough to only play half of the time the only two players I would say that about would be Len Shackelton and Brian Clough even though my all time favourite would have to be Charlie Hurley
Exactly mate, I didn't buy my season tickets because of any individual, but because of my love for the club. Sess was the boy for me, but now he has gone and I hope he is **** for WBA.
I will be cheering the lads on against Arsenal and every other home match (I don't go away because of work commitments).
By the way, BBC are saying he is a club record for WBA above the £6.5m they paid for Shane Long.
I watched Cloughie although I was very young and Charley Hurley was my Darling, but tell me a player apart from Fletcher who is more consistent and effective than Sess in our team last season, unfortunately people jump on the bandwagon and say things like he turns up 50% of the time, that's crap. He is played out of the game quite a lot but that's because the opposition have no one else in our team to worry about and double up on him.
I cannot see his logic, first he wanted to go back to France (apparently) then Saudi Arabia?, I bet he turns us over, but Everton got Lukaku (as far as I know). This similar to the Darren bent fiasco, I hope Di canio did not drive him out ! Bent, Jones, Mig, Malbranque now Sess. Who next Fletcher ?. well January better be good although I doubt there will not be any more sinings for a long time. Luckily I have heard good news about Borini.
Stats eh, how about 17 goals in 87 games, what a 1 in 5 striker...
Perhaps that's been the downfall though, he is and never will be a striker, managers have tried and failed at this and lost their jobs.
Anyway he's ****ed off the WBA, now that's ambition for him.
Mate those are good stats for an attacking midfielder, even for one in the top 4.
Like it or not he WAS our top scorer over the last 2 seasons add to that he was never a striker, he played as part of a 5 man midfield and out of those 87 games, around 40% were on the wing.
Gutted about him leaving as I worry about our midfield massively and this seemingly 4-4-2 formation that was ripped apart by Palace, anyway time to get behind PDC and lets see what we are made of.
I've heard mixed reviews - one of my mates say he looks a good player - another offered him a lift from the North West in a similar way to myself with James McClean (I'm not comparing the 2 BTW)
I hope it works out - I haven't been impressed when I have seen him play but that has been limited so hopefully all the negativity will be removed once he finds his feet.
Overall the squad is OK - not bad really - but Di Canio really needs to shut up slating players in public - the only thing that will do is get us relegated AGAIN and we will, once again, turn into a yoyo club if we're lucky - or Short will walk away and leave us right up **** creek!!
Not fussed in the slightest, 1 good game in 5. Now I'm no mathematician but that equates to turning up 20% of the time and that's not good enough for a bottom six struggling team. Get a player in who will graft, Ki, Borinni or anyone else who will turn up 100% of the time.
Agreeing with O'Shea that it was a terrible mistake is hardly slating him, it was stating the obvious if anything.
I'm sure Short has brought Di Canio in because he knows the players have been taking the piss and wants then reminding why they're there.
As for Sess I'm glad to see the back of him tbh ...... love to see him on form but we can't base our play around someone who becomes the invisible man in over half of his games.
I rolled my eyes when he'd been here a fortnight and said he was homesick, and became totally pissed off at him twisting and pushing for a move.

I heard it differently then - he said "He apologised for his mistake - I don't want apologies, that's 2 in 2 games now where it has cost us" - The way he put it across was disgusting IMO and it has turned a few on here's opinion of him (and the way he treatred Ji vs MK Dons was disgraceful too). You can do things like that at Swindon (with all due respect) as there is very little "public eye" looking on - but you can't at Sunderland.
When I've heard him speak previously I've loved what he said and the way he did things but I just wonder if it's a little too much now - I hope it works out as I like Di Canio's passion and the way he goes about things in training etc but I wish he would keep his player slanging in private rather than doing it to the press. The press hate us and him anyway - they don't need more fuel for their fires.
Sessegnon is probably the most naturally gifted skillful player I have seen in my lifetime at the club. RVP from Arsenal to Man Utd is a similar one where they sold to a rival - we know what happened there - if he turns out 3 in 4 for them then you'd have to wonder why he didn't for us and if it was the management or perhaps too much pressure from the crowd - I know from experience how much we can put onto players and how quickly some of the fans (not all) will slate a player just because of a couple of average performances - Crystal Palace aren't a great side but their fans are just enjoying the ride and created a great atmosphere last week against us - this gives the team confidence - if we aren't winning then our stadium is like a morgue - and sometimes when we are
We play crap at Palace needed that creative midfielder, and more so against Arsenal next week. No replacement either could be a big mistake selling him AND Mig, like Bruce selling Bent and Jones. Lets hope Fletcher behaves himself !.

Bollocks mate, the only people who treated Ji badly that match was some of the fans. Maybe Paolo was naive to think the supporters would give him a boost by applauding his hard work and effort but the only people who were out of order that day was a large percentage of fans (for shame!)
Christ, Paolo showed faith and gave him a start in the next game. Think about it fella. The biggest problem with our club is the fans, been a problem for years. I won't blame Paolo for our disgusting shameful behaviour. Some fans are dragging our name into the mud.
