Yeah but what is imminent? Investment that won't be used on the playing staff. It just doesn't make a single bit of sense given the financial rewards of the championship vs turmoil of being on the wrong side of promotion again.

Like I said, I'm keeping an open mind because we need this and I want it just as bad as all of you. But it needs to be more than he's hinting at, it really does. If we don't invest in January, it will be a really close run thing to get promoted automatically, and we're way further off the pace than last year realistically.

I think we’ll invest mate and I think parky will sort us out too, little bit of luck today and it’s a very comfortable win.

not Gona hit the woodwork 3 times a match most will go in imo.

Aye I hope you're right, we're a couple of players away imo but hopefully Parky will get the rest of them grafting together and dominating games as we should at this level. Felt like Shrewsbury were terrified for the first 10mins until they realised we were beatable.

I most certainly have not backed myself into a corner ffs. The reaction from some people on here is mental, given what could happen to us if we don't get promotion and/or a change of ownership in the next 9 months.

I'm not Chris the accountant(for the millionth time), I won't say what I do but I have plenty of experience of running a business, getting external investment, and company accounts and interpreting them. My partner also works in Mergers and Acquisitions for a big 4 firm, so in a nutshell, I do know what I'm talking about, and I wouldn't be banging on about it if it wasn't potentially putting the club's future in jeopardy.

That's hardly surprising (given that I can't see your occupation [if you even have one]) adding any credibility to your assertions, although I strongly doubt the claims you make in rest of that sentence.

It appears that there is hope for you though!

I do think it's odd how this investment is being framed by the club now though. The comments by Charlie about not spending money don't mesh with ambitious US investors who want to see us progressing on the pitch, do they?

I've got a nagging doubt at the back of my mind that he could have just said it was still on and everyone would be happy. The fact he's trying to play it down to our fans in talk-ins now isn't exactly reassuring.

Also, very much past the point of listening to rumours on here and elsewhere. When it happens, it'll need evaluating based on the detail, not what someone texted someone.
Isnt ffp affecting how much we could spend this season anyway regardless of how minted we might ( or might not ) be

To be honest mate, I have no idea how FFP works, but I'm fairly sure us making a profit this season allows us to put money in? Could do with the facts on it really.

I am sure I read somewhere that expenditure on players wages is matched against income and that due to the size of our squad our wage bill is already very high.
Now IIRC the quote may have come from CM/SD so in your instance that may void it of all credibility.
I'm happy to stand corrected but that is how my memory serves me.

BTW , There is an interesting article on this by chris weatherspoon on medium.com that is worth reading
