Our U23 team lost 10-0 against Everton the other week and are currently bottom of the table on 1 point after 7 games.

Our U18 team is bottom of their table after 7 games on 0 points.

Given that we are living in constrained circumstances and are supposed to be aiming to bring through our academy prospects to the first team, it doesn’t seem like we’re doing a particularly good job.

Has the coaching changed at that level? Out academy was good historically

Oh I definitely think he's got the best interests of the club at heart. I think he's a genuine bloke. I just think even he'd admit the football part isn't going as well as he'd hoped and ultimately he's responsible for it. I want him to stay, just not sure if new investors will, especially given the fact that he does like to be so transparent, they might not want that!
Ultimately I just want what’s best for Sunderland, whoever that maybe.
If he’s first and foremost a football fan (of which I have no doubt) and then was lucky enough to then own a canny sized football club, he must see what we see and admit things are a bit tits up football wise.
I think if the potential new owners are astute they will see that with lots of fans (not all) SD is quite popular so keeping him as the public face would make sense. How long before they phase him out only they know. And hopefully he sees it first, realises he’s achieved what he’s achieved and leaves with his head held high.

Pearson would be my shout. Short term he’s like a league 1 Allardyce.

People just need to get it into their heads now, we need to get out of this league this year.

One thing I would say in SD's defense is that he is a football fan and has certainly tried to engage with us. I would rather that than a faceless chairman who never talks to the fans unless he has to

Don’t think anyone can knock his intentions or morales mate, but his first mistake was not appointing a football man on the board.

His heart has ruled his head quite a few times now and in the long game that won’t be any good to us.

Donald’s insistence on trying to get short term gains in terms of promotion has and will cost us massively in the future in my opinion.

He’s saddled us with a manager he won’t sack, a recruitment team led by his mate, players we can’t afford to move on, an academy that’s producing some of the worst results in its history, and now a fan base that’s had enough.

He needs to go as well.

He cant sack the manager till a takeover has been confirmed- The type of manager we can attract when we are taken over is a world away from the one we can attract with the current set up- any decent manager right-now would have too many reservations- id rather get takeover right than rush in another hopeful manager who hopes he can be the one- become the richest club in the world and you get a manager who knows he is the one

Long term I agree and we are desperate and have been for years for a football brain in the board room

Bring back Paolo the mad bastard he would do the job in this league I reckon.

The Fleetwood game would be very interesting as well :emoticon-0146-punch

We need someone to come in and just start rattling cages and ****house our way onto a run of wins and get some momentum.

We aernt arrogant enough I actually wish Ross had some of Joey Barton’s idiocy, sometimes you just need to stick your chest out and say we are the biggest club in this division and we are gonna dominate.

True he is mental, but I'm struggling to think of someone that would come either before or after the takeover

That is 2 totally different scenarios though- night and day - right now we might get the coventry manager- if we are taken over we can get a premier league manager

It doesn't help that the likes of Liverpool, Man. Utd. and Arsenal are picking off our best up and coming prospects at schoolboy/youth level. We are then replacing them with rejects from Liverpool, Man. Utd. etc, so weakening our U23, youth teams. Unfortunately there is absolutely nothing we can do about it.
