Yes,it has.I hardly recognise it......that Weatherspoons on the bus station.....can't get used to that!
Mind you, there is a lot I notice, particularly in Blackhill and Medomsley areas, which haven't changed a bit since I was a kid.
Don't get round Medomsley much. Shotley Bridge and Blackhill are exactly the same as when I was a kid though. Except that Tescos has appeared and the Highgate has gone.

Reactions: sad-eyed prophet
It might be worth keeping an eye on new sources over the next few days.

I've just had a text conversation with an Italian ex-employer who says big money people are looking at the club.

He's in a different time zone so I couldn't keep him talking but I'll try again tomorrow. He's a mate of Warren Buffett so obviously very wealthy. There are loads of rumours going around but this is the first I've heard from a non football person.

Fingers crossed.
My brother eventually got in touch with his mate (Nathan O’Brien) who confirmed he’s now on the board as a none executive director. Apparently they approached Gordon 1st but he’s to busy with the business. Nathan ran the waste management side but recently sold it to a national company for millions. Good lad with a good business head think he’s only 38yrs old. Asked about when it’s to be announced but even he didn’t know. Sure this is old news but just passing on what I’ve been told this morning.

Is Nathan a Sunderland supporter?

Absolutely, season ticket holder,All the family are.

People can make cracks about skips but these are serious people and exactly what's needed at the club.

I've been saying, for weeks, that the new lads want people who live locally and know the club/area/supporters.

It was put to me that they'll appoint an 'ambassador' as I posted some time ago.

I'd love to know if this is his role, he'd be perfect.

I don't have that long left but my sons and grandchildren will see it

I can remember my youngest asking why he got me to support SAFC when we beat newcastle he said now I know

Great days

now his sons have season cards

And my other son's daughters have them as well

One is 4 and she doesn't like it when we score with all the noise we make
My Daughter went with me a couple of years ago (she's just turned 9) and some dickhead in front of me started threatening me after we had a minor difference of opinion. Said he'd kill me if I went back! I went back - he didn't!! My Daughter hates going to the match now - he spoiled a good day as we won a well and she'd enjoyed herself

There are times Marcus when you couldn't make it up as to how some 'fans ' behave.
At the 92 cup final against Liverpool we had seats in their end as did a lot of our fans and we were sat near a dad and his young son about 10/11 yr old.
When Pool scored their second goals their fans sat in front of us started taking the piss out of this family mercilessly and the young lad started crying and his dad had to take him out......unbelievable.
Tried having a word but was a complete waste of time, I've passionately detested Liverpool fans since that day.

Unreal mate, a young fan potentially lost due to another so called fan! I swear a lot of these people don't go to 'support' the lads but just to vent their pent up anger because they're too scared to elsewhere.

Don't like the self entitled lot anyway but that just throws more weight behind my dislike. I absolutely loved it when they lost the league by a point last season :emoticon-0102-bigsm

Aye they sold up to Biffa.

I'm just about to drive up to a holiday cottage in the Derbyshire countryside, hopefully with better Internet!

I'm REALLY putting my neck on the block here but I've just asked someone who's actually ITK a direct question.

"I'd have to leave Mrs Smug alone, in an isolated cottage, if I go the the match tomorrow ... will it be a match I won't want to miss?"

"If it was me I'd go."

That's all I can get from him and it was a text, not a call so I can't guage his tone.

As an external optimist I'm taking it that there'll be some big news today or in the morning.

Haway ffs, I'm going mental here.
