Someone I know is running the London Marathon in October to raise funds for cancer research after his Niece died from cancer aged 6. Truly heartbreaking.

RIP Jean-Pierre Adams, who has died aged 73 having spent 39 years in a coma.
The former France international footballer went into hospital for a routine knee operation in 1982, and had been in a coma ever since.

Farewell to Michael a very sad end to this fine actor. Omar Little in the Wire was an absolute masterclass.
He represented a style and period to a lot of French people. And those of us who used to watch sub-titled films at the time as it seemed a very cool thing to do back then.
Mike Chapman, folk great. Not a folkie but was taken along to a folk night in Leeds around 1967 where he was appearing. There were better known names than him on but he was the one that made the most impression on me. Of course his best work was done whilst he was living in Hull.
