Sad story. Unless I've got it wrong, the dates don't add up. it states he was released in 2011. Then quotes 'The Tigers' then-boss, Mike Phelan'.

If I remember correctly Steve was a once world record signing from Featherstone.

I remember at the time that RL transfer fees suddenly shot up, led at the time by FC and Rovers who each broke the record a few times. I think at the ime their transfer record signings were higher than City's. Had to look it up to confirm exact details -
