Just listened to a podcast with Harlee Dean (Reading).

Waxed lyrical about our Peter.

Basically saying it’s all about the high press and playing “vertically” i.e. get it
forward diagonally as soon as possible.

This was shown with Burstow’s ball for Kamara against the white ****e.

I’m all for counter attacking football and balls to the pedal pressing so hopefully he gets in players that suit his style.

Selles is a managerial genius

Lets never mention the clown again

Onwards and upwards

Just heard on RH Selles has has the best start ever as a city manager, joint with a certain Steve Bruce ….very high company indeed!

but tbh….i thought Phelan won more points in his opening 5/6 games…. Im getting old…maybe im wrong!

Next European outing starts on Sunday.

That stat is very wrong. Even Walter had more points in his first 7 games

I am trying not to get too excited but this guy really seems to have a level of thought , plan and action above most managers certainly the ones we’ve had . He sets us up well , seems imaginative and is already trying players who we thought were lost - but then I may have thought this in the recent past ! - I hope not

I always remember how exciting Phil Parkinsons first game was, v Barnsley I think? End to end madness which we lost and he reverted to steady eddy from then on.

Best not tell the family of Raich Carter, his first match in charge was a defeat, the next twelve matches saw eleven wins and a draw, the draw was eleventh in the sequence. :emoticon-0138-think

Was that Fletch on 1904 club? He said it was the best since Bruce but not sure that's right. Maybe over his first 5 games, but not after 7.

Reminds me of ex- Barnsley player and enforcer Sid "Skinner" Normanton who was an uncompromising tackling midfielder and subject of several articles by Barnsley lad Michael Parkinson. Dave Mackay , Roy Keane and "Jock" Davidson were pale in comparison on the brutal tackler front if that's possible . A few on here may remember him.
