You might be thinking of the start of the following season, not when he first came in. Oscar didn't join until the summer.

That interview was excellent lots of detail , tactics , good questions and Selles have lots of thoughts on what he wants none of the usual manager speak with no substance - he seems a v clever guy - I hope so and he succeeds

 

Didn’t he start studying for a PhD or at least he has a Masters. He’s a pretty bright guy.

 

I think most managers are to be honest. Iain Dowie has a masters in engineering.

 

In general I agree the cream rises to the top, and not talking about academic achievement in this context. However Selles’s studies have been in Sports Performance and related subjects.
My daughters are both studying Sports Medicine so I’m getting much more interested in this whole field. Wish the subjects were available back in my day, I sure as hell wouldn’t be an accountant!
