Turkey... government massacred its own civilians over park protests, government purged all opposition, from teachers to ministers and doctors judges ect. Aids ISIS. Commits war crimes. Hell bent on massacring Kurds

This lunatic state is coming to the EU.

Wow
Not sure that will happen.
From what I heard Turkish membership talks have been all but stopped.
There is still a ton of **** they need to do to be compliant with their prospective EU overlords.

Like ceasing to be a dictatorship, for instance?

Would be a small step forward!..

Although now the UK has left, the EU might want to make up some of that lost dosh.....and Turkey does have the second largest army in NATO.
That's plenty of troops for the Fascist army they are planning on building.

Nothing is certain, but.. the EU had initially pledged 4.45 billion euros in pre-accession spending for Turkey to 2020. Only 360 million euros has, been allocated so far.

Nice to know where your money is going in part eh

That's one of the things that make me uncomfortable.
I don't agree with the way Turkey runs their ****, but it's their **** to run.
Just because democracy is our preferred method of governance, doesn't mean it should be rammed down everyone else's throats.

More details on the suspension in 2017. Turkey should not have any funds, never mind a few hundred million of EU citizens money, assigned for accession.

If or when it happens, a conservative estimate is 7 to 10 million Turkish migrants to Europe.

Angela Merkel stated in 2010 the German project of Turkish Immigration was a disaster for Germany

I have nothing against Turkish people

I agree that allowing millions of people who hate democracy into Europe cos "feelings" is insane. (not specific to Turkey alone)

Erdogan held a big rally a few years ago attended by millions of Turks from Europe and he said and I quote "Do not integrate, get into politics, we will need you"

"Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan has told Turks living in Europe that they do not need to assimilate into their host societies. Erdogan was addressing an audience of 20,000 Turks gathered in Cologne on Sunday. The audience included Turks living in France, Belgian and the Netherlands, as well as in Germany."

"I understand very well that you are against assimilation. One cannot expect you to assimilate," Erdogan told the crowd. He said, "Assimilation is a crime against humanity."

The audience reached millions of Turks in several countries and Turkey if you include media

Geographically there is a very weak case for Turkey. Only some 5% of the entire country is in Europe.

Politically it would currently be a complete non starter. And I don’t see Erdogan going anywhere anytime soon.

Unless you consider the drive of the EU to add more states. Yes time is a factor, not a dismissal
