Season Predictions

Discussion in 'Tottenham Hotspur' started by Moorpheus19, Aug 9, 2012.

  1. League Winners - united. Yes, I think City will falter, what with the discontent brewing between Mancini and the club.

Top 4 - United, City, Spurs, Arsenal. I think AFC will struggle without RvP, but they still have enough quality to make a fight for 4th.

Spurs position - 3rd, if we can sign a decent striker (or two decent strikers, if we sell Defoe). If we are foolish enough to try to start the season without a decent striker, then I can't see us finishing any higher than 6th.

Surprise package - Liverpool: I think they will be fighting a relegation battle.

Bottom 3 - West Ham, Swansea, Liverpool.

    Top scorer - Wayne Rooney.

First manager to be fired/quit - Either RDM or Brendan Rodgers, depending on who is the lowest in midtable, come the New Year.

I know you dislike/don't rate Liverpool but really?

  3. Really.

At this point in the season, any prediction is as good as any other!

If 'Pool begin the season indifferently, I can see the Mousers turning on him quickly and viciously, and then it will spiral into a relegation battle.

If, on the other hand, he can get a few lucky wins under his belt, he'll probably be good to help 'Pool to another 7th/8th spot. But, for now, I'm going with "relegation struggle" until I see something to force me to alter my opinion.

  5. 'Pool fans, of course, might look at what I've written and accuse me of indulging in some degree of "wishful thinking," but that would an erroneous assessment. I am being objective and not permitting my blind bias to cloud my view, in any manner, shape or form.

HIAG- As funny as I find you, Im a betting man...(made a nice stack yesterday on GB getting disqualified in the relay!)

I know you are not saying Pool will be relegated, but you are clearly saying relegation battle!

Ill offer you a £100 pound bet that Liverpool will not finish in the bottom 5. If Liverpool finish bottom 5 Ill gladly pay you £100. Finish 15th or above and you can pay me!

I know you are a sensible Human being and wil turn me down flat!

    Winners - Utd
    City
    Chelsea
    Arsenal

    Relegated: West Ham, Swansea, Reading

Surprise package: Liverpool will thrive as underdogs and lack of pressure and do better than expected. Position = 5th

    Spurs = 6th.

I would agree with those who say City, Utd, Arsenal & Chelsea as the top 4 - at the moment, anyway. Why we have done next to nothing about bringing in additional firepower, I have no idea. We seem to be playing some sort of high stakes game of poker with Adebayor - waiting to see who blinks first.
Even with him, we would still be just one badly injured striker away from being in trouble. Without him, it doesn't bear thinking about!!.
Then there's the ongoing Modric saga. How are we going to resolve that? Is he going to effectively go on strike? Even if he begrudgingly plays, is he going to be any use to us?
I suppose we can only hope for the usual last minute arrival of " The cavalry" once again, it's hardly an ideal situation.

    Lol redbrynner.

So confident over your 100 quid, you're using 15th as your "safe" position. - 15th might aswell be a relegation battle with final day survival!!

Shouldn't you be showing a bit more confidence in your team and saying to hiag that you won't finish lower than 10th, to make the bet a bit more interesting?!

    Which your fully entitled to.

But Spurs to finish above Arsenal and Chelsea. Arsenal to finish outside top 4. West Ham to go down. A Spurs fan wanting all these things to happen? No way <laugh> I have a hunch you let heart rule over head but it's your opinion and I respect that right

Truth be told your probably right <laugh>

But I seriously can't see West Ham staying up, the only other club I'd put in the mix would be Wigan, and we all know how that ends. And if you read my other posts (I think) I'm a outspoken critic of Man City, and it hurt like hell to tip them for 1st.

  14. I agree, that if we don't sign at least two strikers, we don't stand a chance of finishing in the top 6.

I predict that this season John Terry with shag one/some of his team mates wives/girlfriends and he will racially abuse more of his fellow professional footballers.

As funny as it would be there is no way the Spammers will go down with that midfield quartet of a Diame, Diarra, Nolan and Noble. I hear that knew striker is decent as well and Cole is okay at this level. They've basically just become a poor mans City but will have enough power to see them over the line. Fat Sam has never lost 3 games in a row on the PL before and he's managed ****ter teams than West Ham. As poor as their defence seemingly is they'll do alright.
