well that's that a meaningless game next week, would should have been a full house etc unless a miracle occurs, evry other team bang in form as well in the play off positions but us, typical. Yet we can get revenge on pompey and frig their promotion chances up.
Maybe now that we are not in the driving seat it might take a bit of pressure off for this week. Meaning, hopefully, by Saturday evening we might be back in it.
why oh why do you keep doing this, everyone knows what we have to do and how tight it is, just relax and delete this post before everyone totally ignores you
Beat Portsmouth at home and you're one point off second place with 2 games to go. Realistically probably going to need all three games as two wins and a draw (91 points) would have Barnsley only needing to win one and lose/draw the other (they have a sufficiently better goal difference now that it's likely to mean you have to get more points than them. That said, if you do win all three games then I think you've got second. Not hard to see Barnsley dropping a point as they've been close a few ties recently. Plus... finishing 3rd would be quite a bit better than finishing fourth I reckon. If it does come to play-offs you don't want to have to play Portsmouth/Barnsley AND Charlton. There's a huge gap below Charlton for a reason! Season over? Grow up man, may just be getting to the best bit.
For the moment the pressure is off you lads. You have a play/off place, Pompey will be full of nerves in front of 40,000 fans wanting revenge for Wembley. I remember what happened in 1993, when Sunderland blew PFC away 4-1.
Monty, you can be a right arse sometimes. Why do you insist on winding up your fellow fans? I suspect you're not a Sunderland fan at all
I think we'll be full of nerves too mate. Last home game of the season with a full house and needing the win to try and put pressure on Barnsley, while at the same time trying to please 40,000 home fans. It's going to be a good match
He's certainly a mystery. So many posts where he's obviously a WUM. Then there's many suggest that he's not.
If there was any justice around, 4 teams from League 1 deserve promotion and 4 merit relegation from the Championship. If the season resutls in failure, hopefully the teams will emerge stronger next season. The conundrum will be Ipswich.
It’s insane that 4 teams have been so strong in the league, insane. Any other season 1 or 2 are running away and we are 3 clubs sitting here ****ting bricks. I think we ****ed top 2 today but if it’s the playoffs we are in it, and I’ll be ready. By ready I mean a ****ing nervous wreck, probably single, and likely necking trammadol to get me through work. That kinda ready.
To get automatic promotion out of this división requires a high points return. When Southampton got promoted with 92 they were pushed all the way by Huddersfield, Last season, Wigan and Blackburn both topped 90. When Wolves got promotion it was with a 100 so this is not unique, perhaps it is just that 3 into 1 just won't go.
That’s the thing though, those sides, pushed, maybe, but always comfortable. Nobody but Luton has ever been stable in there, it’s like a ****ing crack den the 3 of us, absolutely ridiculous. My solace is that, even if we stay down, we have our club back and I’d expect we can get it next year. I say expect, but you know I’m a Sunderland fan so to expect is not to ****ing expect. I still insist us and Barnsley are the 2 best sides, but the way pompey and Luton have kept their tails up and had these season is a credit to them. I guess we all wish Luton well after the **** that club had thrown at them, they rightfully deserve to be back at what is their level.
Hat a typical @monty987 wum thread. Posts inflammatory ****e then never responds. The worst type of poster **** off monty. You’re one of the worst fans and, as I said a few seasons ago, SAFC don’t need “fans” like you it’s suit us all if you did give up that season card you claim to have. You are more negative than absolute zero ffs!! No positivity on here so makes it very debatable whether you even support Sunderland.
