Musty and Ron missed the Reading game which for some mysterious reason was played on Thursday. They haven't lost much: Lyndhurst was the only one to take a point on that game.

It's going to be a busy time for us I'm sure so here is the match text for the next-but-current round of games.

Please sit down before I tell you this but ALL these games will kick off at 15:00 on Friday 26th December. Yes, twelve games all on one afternoon! Why did no-one think of that before?

The following round will be the last of the calendar year and we'll have all the bells and whistles for that one. For this particular round, we'll just have Goal Totals switched on in addition to the usual arrangements. There's nothing you need to do for that but I'm sure some will add them up anyway.

Lots of goals in this round - 41 to be precise - 6 of which were at Doncaster :) and 5 at Reading.

As a rare end-of-year treat, I had the highest match score while Away and Musty also got double-digit match scores with 10 apiece.

Away In BC got the goal time, which being Doncaster going 1-0 up against Argyle after only 4 minutes, looked like a bad start to proceedings for the Greens but 19 minutes later, Argyle were 3-1 up and cruising.

Joe remains in first place but it's closed up behind him. At this time last year, there was a 65 point spread from top to bottom. Leaving Ron out of the calculation as he started several rounds in, the gap this year is 26 points.

The double points make this look more impressive but it also looked from the outset like a relatively easy set to predict. Man Of The Match though was I think Lyndhurst who was the only one NOT to put Barnsley down for a home win over Mansfield and turn out to be correct. Who would have thunk it?

In the first Boxing Day fixture at Home Park for no less than 9 years, nobody put Argyle down to lose to Reading after a 1-5 thrashing of Doncaster in mid-week, either but unfortunately that's what happened with a little help from the ref. Those of you without Argyle allegiances shouldn't listen to us Greens you know, we are a tad biased.

Plym topped the Match Points scores with 26 points from 8 correct match results, closely followed Musty with 25 from 7. Musty also got the Goal Time spot-on at 14 minutes as did Ron. Joe got 5 points from the Goal Total with the astonishing 37 scored yesterday including 3 fives and a six!

None of this made a lot of difference to the league table: Joe, Away and that bloke Me remain in the first 3 places although Musty moved up to joint third in a tied 198 points.

The next round of games is at 19:45 on Monday 29th December.

AFC Wimbledon - Exeter City
Barnsley - Lincoln City
Blackpool - Rotherham United
Bolton Wanderers - Mansfield Town
Bradford City - Port Vale
Burton Albion - Wigan Athletic
Cardiff City - Stevenage
Huddersfield Town - Northampton Town
Luton Town - Leyton Orient
Peterborough United - Reading
Plymouth Argyle - Wycombe Wanderers
Stockport County - Doncaster Rovers

This is then the last round of the calendar year. Points will be awarded for Argyle's league position after those games. I can declare now that Away In BC and Plymborn will be the joint winners. Whether they are worthy winners is arguable: it's highly unlikely they'll be in the right half of the table.

Oddly though, it's still the base that Argyle are just 3 points behind every team up to Luton in 8th. It is all there to play for.

We will have:

Treble Points
Two Jokers Please
Goal Totals ON
