Loach was not to blame in Malky's first season, he was a big part of the reason we had so much as a sniff in the first place. And as I eluded to above, I'd be amazed if a team got promoted with 46 goals at the end of a season, which we're on course to do.
Agree with you about last season though.
I don't blame Loach for last season, but like this season he was giving away a fair amount of goals which were howlers.
Anyone who thinks we had a shot at promotion this season is /was sadly deluded (sorry moose) there is too much stacked against us this season , NNW is right , rather than blaming Loach we need to score more !!! 23 goals in 23 games is defo not promotion stats!!
Don't mean to offend but, you're not at the games so I can't accept that mate. We're still only 8 points off the play offs with half a season to go....if we keep putting in the performances and sort out the dodgy goals then we would already be up there....but we have 23 games to sort it out.
In the last 4 games we've scored 4 goals.
In the last 6 games we've scored 6 goals.
In the last 8 or 9 games we've scored 8 or 9 goals respectively.
There are quite a few teams up there who have scored more or less as many as us......but they are putting in good defensive displays not giving away cheap goals.
Like I said before, if you score lots of goals then that's great but you don't need to if you can keep a clean sheet. We're doing well...Mariappa and Nosworthy are a fantastic partnership and I'm more ready to blame our mistakes at the back, even if it would help if we put away more goals.
