They could go to Italy, France, Germany but they want to come to Britain. The same applies for the Poles, the Latvians, Lithuanians etc. They want to come to Britain because we are seen as being a safe country with good civil liberties (plus we speak English)

Great in Britain is akin to Greater and Manchester. The great in Britain refers to its size compared to little Britain (Ireland)
