The UK economy has returned to pre-crisis levels by expanding 0.8% in the second quarter of this year.

On an annual basis gross domestic product (GDP) expanded by 3.1%.

The figures show the economy is now worth 0.2% more than it was at its peak in 2008, the Office for National Statistics (ONS) said.

The service sector is the only part of the economy that has passed its previous 2008 peak, although that accounts for almost 80% of UK output.

Other key sectors, including construction, industrial production and manufacturing, have yet to outstrip levels reached in 2008.

The UK economy is forecast to be the fastest growing among the G7 developed nations, according to the International Monetary Fund (IMF).

Yes, solely down to London and the South and the North East of Scotland.

My gran and my uncle managed to somehow blame Weegies for it.

Because of the protest in the baths in Glasgow, that, apparently meant the Bon Accord had to close.

VicDONs

<laugh>

Nobody used them then pined like **** when they closed it. Much like Union Terrace gardens.

Never been to a city with more humpty ****s anywhere on Earth.

The blaming folk fae elsewhere in Scotland for everything is something you don't encounter anywhere else (except very specific things between Glasgow and Edinburgh).

"Man, the petrol is so ****ing dear these days - I bet that's all they teuchter ****s in their North Anderson Drive bungalows that've caused this. Grrr."

I used them a lot.

It's a disgrace the building is still closed.

My opinions on Aberdeen City Council are plain, they are the ****s to blame for the closure.

Anyway dont get me started on that shower of ****s...............

Glasgow City Council is a closed shop.

Edinburgh City Council have been caught red handed knocking money off residents in the buildings fund.

And yet, somehow, the Aberdeen City Council manage to outdo both of these showers of crooks through sheer ineptitude.

Cooncils get away with all manner of ****e because people are too lazy and apathetic to do anything about it. Just whinge and moan and post mumpy comments on online newspaper forums.

Not in Paisley, man <laugh>

We still have enough of the Sma' Shot, Paisley Martyrs, Radical War spirit (google them) for the council to be a wee bit afraid of the populace.

Plus, apparently, the town council chambers are the most visited address by the police - more than any address in Feegie or Shortroods or Hunterhill cos the Labour and SNP councillors have resorted to straight up rammying on occasion <laugh>

Some places are like that. Midlothian cooncil is corrupt as f** (yer typical old school Labour area). Threats of physical violence etc. I know one of the councillors (Ian Baxter - one of the Greens) and he's been threatened loads of times because he keeps exposing the Labour c**ts and their dodgy land deals.

There's a local independent councillor - always runs for MP and used to be part of the SWP called Paul Mack in Paisley.

He's ****ing certifiable <laugh>

His campaign leaflets basically accuse random folk of being up to no good in Leggo-esque language.

I think he actually got lifted and cautioned after a square go in the chamber <laugh>

You are absolutely correct.

Everyone here despises them with a passion.
