I love it when someone goes to the effort of writing a 500 word article to point out they don't care.

1978? I'm assuming he's referring to Scotland's shambolic showing at the World Cup in Argentina? He couldn't possibly mean the referendum of 1979 surely?

Did he write that? I didn't get past the first line.

It's a fallacy I tells ya.

Fair comment, I was a year out. It's no biggie. You knew the one I meant and that's cool.

Actually, I went out of my way not to mention the debacle of Argentina '78. After this summer's pathetic efforts, English fans have no room to taunt the Scots over that any more.

For sure, I don't care which way the referendum goes.... truly I don't. The point of my "500 word post" (did you count them all..? Blimey, I didn't bother but I'll take your word for it). The point of my post was to put a question to the group and I'd still like an answer if, that is, any of you know or are at all interested in the ethnic make up of (what you hope will be) "your" country after the referendum (OK, I said election in my first post, too. Another minor error <yawn>)

After all.... there is so much mixed blood between our two peoples, that it's almost impossible to tell who Scots really are. Sure, place of birth would qualify as "Scottish born", but what about genetics..? Down here in the beautiful south, Scots are usually marked out by that growling accent and a propensity for mindless violence, but even many of those people probably have English DNA in them from somewhere along the line. It would be disappointing to think that the only people who could claim to be true ethnic Scots are the ginger wigged, deep fried mars bar eating, whisky sodden Shuggies who will probably return to the Glasgow streets they have been temporarily shooed away from, in approximately eleven days time.

So..... what exactly constitutes "A Scotsman"? Are there <ahem> but 100 of you alive that have no English in you at all..?

It would be interesting to see Alex Salmond's lineage as far back as, oh, say, 1746. Do you really know who rules you..? It's just a thought.

If we take Black cocks ramblings to its natural conclusion then there would be one country in the world as we could all be linked by genetics.

Who is it anyway? EDGE?

Steams straight in mixing up civic and ethnic nationalism, asks silly questions about dual nationality then throws in some haggis and caber tossing stuff.

He's a right wag, isn't he. Or did I mean to say ****er? Aye, ****er is what I meant.

Cameron with his befuddled Humpty Dumpty face and Salmond with his "I had 12 Humpty Dumpties for breakfast" face.

Pair of twats.
