After conversing with young Venom t'other day about the greatest film of all time - Harry and the Hendersons - I came to the conclusion that the cryptozoological eponymous star was in fact Billy Ocean.
Salmond f**king up big style.
His pick 'n mix Independence policies are getting shot down left, right and centre.
Fat arrogant presumptious balloon.
Here's an interesting article with charts galore to help you decide how to vote:
http://blogs.ft.com/off-message/2014/02/06/scottish-independence-the-30-charts-you-need-to-know/
Though I expect the real reason for voting one way or another has little to do with whether you perceive you'll be better off or not and is mostly to do with patriotism. That is the main issue in my opinion as basing the argument on economics is like saying: "let's split countries into smaller, richer and poorer, countries so those in the rich areas can be more prosperous and those in the poorer areas can swivel".
Actually there's a lot more to it. Certain governments specialise their economies in a certain way - for instance the Government of Singapore realises that it has a big population in a very small space, so it has specialised its economy towards the free market, an international finance and trade centre where it lives off the intellectual production of its citizens - Norway on the other hand has a small population spread out over a mass of land with lots of natural resources, so it has specialised its economy as a socialist welfare state, where the government sells the resources of the country externally and engages in a sort of state-capitalism with the funds it generates, in that the Norwegian Sovereign Fund invests in a lot of oversees companies (it was a major investor in the last company I worked for) in order to use its resource capital to fund its welfare state. Both countries have taken very different routes, both countries are highly specialised in their economies and despite one being center-right and the other being center-left they have both been very successful at it, because of their ability to specialise.
What we have in the UK is left-leaning north (with a smaller population, but plenty of natural resources north of the Scottish border) and a right-leaning south (with few natural resources, but a huge population and banking economy in terms of the City of London etc). The UK government has been been engaging in a one-size-fits-all approach for years, where what's good for the south is not necessarily good for the north, and vice versa. If you look at the Northern Ireland situation (as I often do) they are basically begging the Westminster government to allow them to copy the Republic of Ireland's tax models http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-northern-ireland-24372175 and http://www.belfasttelegraph.co.uk/b...-ireland-corporation-tax-battle-29586587.html) - because the high population City of London finance model does nothing poor region with no consumer demand.
Of course instead of going for a separation of the UK, the federalised devo-max option would allow specialisation without breaking up the romantic notion of a United Kingdom. And that's almost certainly what will happen when the Scots vote no.
IF the Scots vote no the Westminster government will hammer us . The Barnet formula will be scrapped and the policies being put into practice now will get even worse .
The rich will get richer the poor will be shat upon and everything north of the Watford gap will be an after thought .
If the the Scots vote Yes then god help the north of England because they are in for at least 20 years of Tory rule as the labour vote will be down 70 MPs

Oh dear .
Your Nigelness is showing through here . Salmond doesn't have to do anything if the Tory government and it's minions continue to act the way they are doing .
Yesterdays announcement makes no sense and any **** with any sense knows that . The governor of the bank of England said as much a fortnight ago .
Therefore the numpties are spouting pish in an attempt to scaremonger and bully . The Scottish people know a bullshitter when they see one . Obviously you don't fit into that catagory Nige .
This will back fire big time for the NO campaign .
oh dear what a t**t you are.
salmond and holyrood have been shafting Aberdeen and the north east and are pissing off the oil companies.
his manifesto was based on presumption and arrogance.
why would the rest of Scotland want to carry the central belt as we are doing so now?
stupid prick.
