One of the major causes of the crash were central banks being too slow to stop the overheating - they controlled the interest rate and they didn't raise it as the housing market started to get to ridiculous levels. It's ok saying "none of us seen it coming" but if none of us are capable of seeing it coming, why is it controlled by people, what exactly is their job then?

The Government also decided it was going to guarantee the liabilities of private investors who should have lost money. By all means step in and save the banks as organisations - but don't pay the bondholders 100p in the pound for making bad bets. And that's the thing, the market is supposed to correct itself - when Capitalists get over exuberant they should lose their capital, but no we have Governments who keep promising everyone, rich and poor, that they can all win all of the time. People are asking why Capital is continuing to grow while wages are stagnant - because your Government saved the Capitalists, it stopped the readjustment. The market was not corrected, and we're all set for it happening again with the runaway London market being pushed by Government subsidies as well as ridiculously low interest rates. That's not a failure of pure market Capitalism, it's a failure of (well intentioned) interventionist central authorities who don't know what they are doing.

Mick, the governments of Westminster are controlled by banks and big business.

    Why are you confused?

You seem to be suggesting that a post-independent Scotland will be some socialist paradise but I'm pointing out to you that this is never going to happen.

And with that point, both classical Liberals (for small Government) and the Left (for big Government) are on the same page. The difference of opinion is the solution - Socialists believe all they need is Socialists in control and it will all be fixed, whereas Liberals believe the Socialist will eventually turn to ****s as well, dishing out favours to whatever the politically expedient group is that week (farmers, bankers, miners, tube workers, unionised electricity workers - every **** will want favours from the big Government and every **** will protest when they don't get it).

Well, you're decrying Westminster saying that it's ran by bankers, yet you seem to be pretty relaxed about your political party being ran by the people cut from the same cloth.

But, not in socially-just Scotland, we'll be different because we'll be ethical and our bankers aren't as greedy as those Sassenach bastards, FREEDOM

Do you honestly believe the SNP are the same as the Tories? The Tories represent middle England, mostly based in the south east. It's a completely different political system in Westminster nowadays which is the reason we need independence.

Capitalism is a force of nature. It evolved out of humanitys need for trade.Marx predicted that socialism would be the next phase of social evolution, but so far that hasn't happened.

The difference between Scottish bankers that run the SNP, and the English bankers that run Westminster is the Scottish and English electorate respectively.

More contradictory **** from the resident ****ter.

Work what out you fkin dick? You've got a problem that you think Westminster is ran by bankers and you want independecne from the UK because of said bankers, yet you're happy to trump up the Bankers that you say are running the SNP?

I've worked it out! You're a hypocritical ballroot like the rest of the mutants invloved in the referendum debate.

    With best regards,

You're struggling to understand but not to worry, I'll cal you later and turn you on with my sexy voice and descriptions of threesome with Salmond and Sturgeon.

ps A wee clue: the SNP can't run Scotland like the Tories run Britain. They simply wouldn't get elected. Axtually, that's rather a large clue.
