FORECASTS FOR SCOTLAND’S OIL REVENUES


2012-13

£6.7 billion … OBR forecast (scenario 1)
£6.9 to £7.2 billion … SNP forecast (scenarios 2 to 5)

£5.6 billion … ACTUAL revenues (GERS)

So in March 2013, when the fiscal year 2012-13 was almost over and the UK oil revenues for three quarters were published (!!!), the SNP government OVERestimated Scotland’s 2012-13 oil revenues by £1.3 to 1.6 billion = by 23% to 29%.


2013-14

£6.2 billion … OBR forecast (scenario 1)
£7.1 to £8.3 billion … SNP forecasts (scenarios 2 to 5)

£4.0 billion … ACTUAL revenues (sum of GERS quarterly figures)

In March 2013, the SNP government OVERestimated Scotland’s oil revenues for the NEXT fiscal year 2013-14 by £3.1 to 4.3 billion = by 80% to 110%
