Should Scotland be an Independent Country?

Looks like curtains for the YES camp.

Ah well, another few centuries being run by the English should be grand.

They thought they could get Independence by bribing the poor and cajoling the Neanderthal patriots with promises of untold wealth redistribution, haggis hunts and shortbread mines, completely ignoring anyone with more than half a brain.

I watched a programme on the coveted 'Nordic' models that the loopy left want us to follow should Scotland achieve its Independence.

They started in Finland, a country that regularly, during its 97 year existence, goes from boom to bust cycles. The had relied heavily on the USSR for trade and when they went tits up, so did the Fins. Granted now they have an excellent education system, but their education minister siad that it's not something that you can import, it's the Finnish society that allows it's education culture to flourish.

Off to Sweden next, higher unemployment than the UK (and Scotland), 2/3 of your income taxed, which you get some back through benefits (what's the point?) ONLY if you're working... and if you are out of work for a year, your benefits get slashed, no bedroom SUBSIDIES here, Jock.

Finally to Norway, a genuine "what could've been" for me. 40 years of oil wealth has transformed Norway. They invest NOT ONE KRONE in Norway from their oil bounty! They do invest 4% of the interest they earn in Norway, where the rest is invested all over the world. That way, when the oil runs out, their economy doesn't die of death. What amazing vision from the Viking bastards back in the 70's!!

But **** all facts from the SNP, no appealing to the middle class or anyone who earns more than £20k a year.

I actually agree with you, but I would still vote Yes because Scotland is currently a ****e hole.

The Isle of Man is a ****e hole, but I live here primarily because they have independence.
