Just having a look to see what other syndicates are doing Here's one that may be worth taking a look at for any ideas of what to do and what not to do. Haven't studied it but it seems as though it might be active.

Just to answer a few of the questions I've seen raised on here. The scoop 6 runs every Saturday and then there is a Super scoop 6 that runs every day during major meetings. There is also a scoop 6 run on Friday evenings on the all weather for some of the season at Wolverhampton and Dundalk primarily. The scoop 6 races for each Saturday are released the day before usually mid afternoon and include flat and jumps at any point in the season its rare for it to be exclusively flat racing but once the flat season finishes you do get exclusively jumps races. Someone raised the issue of whether tote would pay out to multiple people splitting the pot. They would if it was a syndicate and there's no limit to the number, this doesn't have to be a registered syndicate as far as i know there'd just have to be someone (i,e Ron) who took charge, if your syndicate won and then let tote know if its a single winner or multiple etc.. And finally with regards to the Jackpot totals its not often at all that it gets to the £1m mark, so if that was what you waited for you probably wouldn't be playing much throughout the year.

the fee on every £20 is rediculous if the panel were that good surely they would rather take a percentage after a win ! Also who the **** advertises using someone who has clearly won it on there own and NOT with the sindicate.

Just one more thing to bear in mind try keep the number of members fairly low. I was part of a syndicate that won about 5 years ago there was 36 of us in our syndicate and 21 winning tickets in total on the scoop 6. The 36 of us ended up with £125 each so hardly a life changer! Just two of us still do it now every Saturday and since the win we've only managed the placepot twice and not come close to the win again.........yet!

I suppose that's the difference between a public "Service" and a "Friends' Syndicate".
I still have concerns about how to strictly govern the money transfers. If we could crack that to everyone's satisfaction then we might be in business. I'm happy to draft up some rules for comment once we've sorted that.
So we have determined that a few of us are up for it, as you say ron it is jus the money situation we need to sort out but as Nass said I think everyone trusts you enough etc.. if we have one maybe two holders who can access the account. How to pay it in Im not sure

Just looked at this one ron very intresting as some seem to have little or no knowledge of picking and the system on previous weeks seems very floored they look to be assessing this but again it looks a very unconventional stratergy . Not that they dont have a chance though as it is a gamble anyway. I would agree with the throwing away aspect though.
It's not that simple Bob. There are several things to consider as an ongoing syndicate. To do something quickly for this week all the planning to do it properly would have to be thrown out of the window.
For this to happen on Saturday of this week the following needs to be considered without delay. I suspect that we will not get enough takers as there is no time to set up a syndicate with proper safeguards for its members.
Selection team. We really should ballot for this but at present it's looking like Bob, stick and uncle, if no-one else is interested in that role. If that's the case you could each pick one in each race for starters and see how many horses we have for each race (given you may pick the same horse in any race). We then need to decide whether, you select more horse(s), to end up with 3 in each race or some races with less than 3 and some with more. Or someone else contributes. Whatever, the process needs to be agreed by those taking part (ie contributing money). However, the type of bet will be decided by how much is available in the "kitty"
Funding. How many people are prepared to fund the bet and how much do we need (£1500 for 3 in each race). Money would have to be transferred on line to ensure there is no money "in the pipeline" and only money received by a fixed time would be staked. This would mean that the type of bet is determined by how much is received. What do we do if the £1500 is not raised ?
Bank account. A bank account needs to be set up in the name of the syndicate; I'm not sure that enough people would be prepared to deposit money in another member's account; it's not the way to go about this but would appear to be the only way available for this Saturday. The logistics of moving money around needs to be solved
Placing the bet. Who will physically place the bet and make the bet available for viewing in good time for all members to be aware of the selections. Whoever that is needs access to an account and will need authority to transfer money out of the account and into scoop6. Restrictions will need to be set up so that money cannot be transferred to any other account. However there must be a way of paying members their share of any winnings. So there is a contradiction. It means that in order to go ahead for this Saturday one person would need to be trusted to receive money into an account, place the bet, when given the instructions, and transfer any winnings to members' accounts. This would need to be someone who has an account with Totepool, or can easily set one up. I'm not certain but maybe this has to be someone from the UK. I'm not sure who would want to take that responsibilty and even less sure how many potential members may consider that too much of a risk to get involved

2. We go for a one off this Saturday which would involve a volunteer to act as a temporary treasurer to manage the receipt of money from members and place the bet. At a certain deadline the selection team would need to be made aware of how much has been received by whom and publish it on the forum (within a group to be set up to ensure access is restricted only to members). The selection team would then know how many lines could be staked and decide on the horses and publish those in the same way. The treasurer would then be responsible for placing the bet and posting evidence of the bet. If successful each member could supply their bank details in order for the money owed to be transferred quickly (no need to supply before then). Alternatively could be paid by cheque. Not wanting to be personal but the treasurer should have an account that is not in an overdraft situation. Also should supply their full name and address (with proof) to Oddy and me.
3. Forget it all together
A quick vote on the options would be the best way forward I think. So please indicate the extent of your interest below

Well we have a few days to sort all rons points trust should not be a problem really numbers would be the issue 3 lines on each in principal leaves it highly risky but the bigger the gathering the lighter the loss all who want a crack must be willing to lose ! Nobody wants to but **** happens .15 names makes £100 stake 30 names £50 stake im easy input is what we need on funding and maybe on a few levels names and max willing stakes % can be worked out accordingly .think fellas think
