The problem with it now is that you need throw so much at it. Should you have only two runners in each you cannot afford to go for the more imaginative selections, this means if you do win it then so will thousands of others meaning that there would be no life changing sum.

I really feel for the guy who nearly got it today, we have all been there for large sums and we never mind losing when the horse was not up to it, that horse however was all over the winner, It came with the run to win. I am still not sure how it stopped, was it the changing of it's legs? did it pull itself up a little when hitting the front? very very unlucky that man.

The guy who had the Escape to Glory ticket staked just £8 on it. I hope to god he had a lucky 63 or so on giving the prices of the other 5 winners!

Bumping this, as it is important we get sorted. Out of 26 members today, only 6 have responded - all positively, but maybe those not wishing to go again, don't want to be seen admitting it.

If that's the case, please don't feel pressured into it - I would much rather you said your preference than remain silent . You lot have been brilliant today, despite massive disappointment - there are no recriminations if you felt that this was a one off and you don't want to try again <applause>

Call me a cynic but that may have been one £8 ticket amongst how many others?

I applaud your endeavour today but its a lottery esque and wee bald fred is loving the longer it goes on <ok>

He better make the most of it as there's no way he'll be keeping control of the pool betting after 2018. Wonder if he has recouped the £265M he paid for it?
The staff at ALL ex Tote shops have recently had a 30% pay cut to bring them in line with the rest of the Betfred empire - most at my local have left for a new PP shop who are paying them 50% more than Fred now!!

Sorry we couldn't get the winners lads. Felt like we'd have been better off going with the best names rather than looking at form.

Maybe we'll have more success in future weeks.

I feel for you lads, I really do... Its always hard when you lose on a accy when its the first race that lets you down, but it seems that none of your heads have gone down too much over it...

If you do decide to have another go at it again next week then I wish you all the luck in the world...<cheers>

What we need is a new commitment thread to gauge how many are interested for next week and get it sorted asap.
