Saying that, Michael was only 5 hundredths off Nico's time. So not too bad I reckon.

I'm not paying for the News of the World to read that link, which is probably garbage anyway!

Not even going to read that paper, or look at the link, because it's simply bull, Michael wants to extend his contract, the more time he can spend pulling Mercedes up the better.

This... Mercedes need schumachers WDC+WCC experience to help build the team up for the future. Nico is also gaining experience from him and he's improved because of it.

This is my first post since leaving 606 and I have to say I am really impressed with the new site. Better than 606 I would say. Getting back to the original topic, there is no question that Schumacher has shown signs in the last few races that he is getting back to his old self and I still think there is time for him to make an impact this season. If the Mercedes engineers can get their act together and get the most out of the car then I think next season could be very interesting. Other posters have made the point that Schumacher has only scored 14 points compared to Rosberg's 26 but hasn't Schumacher had 2 retirements out of 6 races this season?

wow another canary! Welcome, hope you enjoy it here!

On the topic of Schumacher, I wish him well, but Rosberg is simply doing a better job with the car for whatever reason and by the end of the season I would expect the 26-14 gap to be a lot bigger.

He may have had 2 DNF's but I don't think that's made much of a difference. He's struggling in qualifying compared to his teammate and his car must be horrible to drive in the races with their rear tyre wear issue. As much as I would love to see the old Schumacher return (and I feel Schumacher in his prime is better than Rosberg), it doesn't look like that's going to happen.

Agree with Silver Arrows, and while Rosberg may have the points advantage over Schumacher, you better believe it's Schumacher experience that's helping develop the team. Or does anyone think it's Nico, I rest my case, nuff said. For now

Schumacher has more team building skills than Rosberg, that cannot be questioned.

Nico's a smart cookie, he did an aptitude test for williams and scored the highest on record. He was also thinking of doing aerodynamics at some prestigious university so he has obvious knowledge of cars, maybe more than what schumacher knows.

Bit of budget difference though lol...

Didn't see unlimited money, Ross brawn, Rory Byrne, Todt and half the benneton team at Williams last time I checked.

Every team needs a pilot/driver that can allow them to (with his input) extend and improve the car and the inner workings of a team.
If your not very good at it you have to bail out when you have the chance, but when you know you are building something special, as in Ferrari and Mercedes, you stick with them until the end and never run.

That drive deserved a podium. Was nearly sure a win was on at one point.

Two impressive showings from the meister, is he now back for real?

I agree, I think he did deserve a podium today. Shame.

Yep, had a look, turns out that Williams don't have these things, and are struggling financially compared to other teams.
