This mysterious promise to Morgan about selling him this year....we imagined it because we couldn't see why he settled down, but do we know it? He may have skipped out of the office with the idea he would be sold if any sensible idea came in for him, but is only just realising that Les's idea of sensible is everyone else's idea of insane.

We of course don't know for certain, which I said in the post. I think this sort of thing happens alot more than people think though imo.

We will have promised him we can go, but I'm sure that's only IF we get an offer which meets our valuation. Just because we promised him to go it doesn't mean that we have to sell him for £10m if no other offers come in.

I know we wouldn't go that low, but if it becomes clear Man U or Arsenal aren't going to offer, I feel sure we would sell him to Spurs for, say, £20m. Those bastards always get what they (or we) want.

Morgan has said in interviews that Southampton will let him leave for a fair price and he seemed happy with that.
Of course that fair price of say £25m might not seem too fair to Morgan as time ticks on. He might consider the rumored bid of £20m from united to be more his worth and might potentially make things difficult, which is probably what united are hoping for.
Still they've finally finished the transfer of Darmian from Torino, so their negotiating team can recommence with Saints

Manure closing in on Schweinsteiger, according to Sky. What will this mean for Morgan? Sounds like they've messed both Saints and Morgan around. Only one thing for it, stay with us.

Or they buy Morgan as well.

Maybe, but it looks like Schweinsteiger was always their first choice, so he'll have a big decision to make as he will want to be in the French team for the euros, and he may not be first choice at manure with Scweinsteiger and Carrick etc.

I don't want to dream of a midfield of:

Wanyama
Schneiderlin
Clasie

Signing Bastian, would mean very little chance of Morgan being a main stay in United and with Manure dithering.. maybe he he thinks staying at saints is better for his career than sitting on the bench!

Let's not forget that Morgan regulary makes the french squad now.

Morgan seems chilled...perhaps he thinks there is still plenty of time. Or perhaps he knows he will be sold next year....as long as he doesn't sign any suspicious bits of paper shoved in front of him by Les Reed. :)

It's like what Ron said; it's important for every player to have a good pre season, and I think Morgan is aware of that.

Not sure Clasie will come unless Schneiderlin goes, which is understandable.

Dude seems to really like RK, though. So I think he will come cheap. And to be honest, as much as I love Schneiderlin, it is getting to the point where I'm more excited about Clasie (plus maybe 10m) than MS possibly staying.

I honestly think Wanyama and Clasie could be a better pairing.

Schneiderlin is the best ball winner in Europe and good on the ball. He's in a different league altogether to Clasie.

Best ball winner in Europe - now that is some statement. I might argue he isn't even the best in Southampton with big vic in town
