Meh why not. The lad clearly has passion, although I'm unsure as to his actual position? Is he a striker? Or an attacking midfielder? Either way, can't hurt to at least give him a trial if he has his whole nation behind him. We might even get some crazy Sierra Leone ultras in the North Stand :D
 
Work permits tend to hinge on playing a certain percentage of full international games for your country and it appears that the boy has just brocken into the senior team.

It's 3 years for citizenship, which as he'd need to be there for 2 years to hit the 75% of internationals in 2 years we'd be as well to do rather than bring him back early and have him stuck on work permits for 5 years (when he should qualify to apply for UK citizenship). It's what Man U did with Manucho, the signing him for themselves and loaning him out thing.
 
We're the blokes who are making the film. We just got back from Sierra Leone where Saviour is banging in goals for FC Kallon. Basically he's the next hot thing out of the country, the best young striker there.

We just need to get his visa sorted...

Can't do much worse than any of our other strikers over the last few years.

Might even put donkeys like Folan, Wilbraham, Brown to shame.

Good work guys. Is this an actual film (and if so when is it ourt) or just a 'come and get me' plea? I think it would be a great story if we could give the lad a trial.

Thanks for the interest.
Things are moving along both with the film and with our attempts to bring Saviour to the UK. He was turned down for his first visa due to inadeqate information supplied at the Sierra Leone end of things... complicated but not the end of the road.
We'll be applying again with some heavyweight support from politicians and football connections.
That'll happen soon.
In the meantime Saviour is currently acknowledged to be the best young striker in Sierra Leone, a first choice for top team FC Kallon and hopefully soon making it through to the full national squad.
In regard to work permit regulations, we went to see the FA at Wembley (and filmed it) and this is the basic line for any player:
1) If non-EU then the country you come from must be FIFA top 70 or above.
2) You must have played in a minimum of 20 competitive national 'A' games.
Saviour has done neither.
BUT
If you've done neither the club that wants the player can still appeal to the FA. If they can prove that the player can make a significant and unique contribution to the game, and that they want him enough, then a work permit can still be granted.
So basically, if he's good enough and someone wants him enough then its possible. That's official.
Would he survive playing football in the UK? Naturally it would take him time to adapt to the English game but many African players have managed that, so why not?
Strength and fitness? Saviour trains rigorously every day with Kallon, under the personal supervision of Mohamed Kallon. In addition he does 1000 sit-ups and 1000 push-ups every day. And runs up a small mountain. Every day. How many UK players do that?
We've seen him play. He's good. People are already saying he could be the next Drogba.
We've helped him find an agent, a Swedish guy called Patrick Mork - google him if you want his credentials. Mork is responsible for having discovered some of the biggest footballers in West Africa. He rates Saviour
We hope that Saviour will be visiting Hull very soon - he'll do some work in the schools we've twinned with schools in Freetown. And hopefully some clubs will take a look. Hopefully City.
We'll keep the forum posted with any developments.

Hull is twinned with somewhere in Sierra Leone, I think it's Freetown but it's been that long since I've gone across the county boundary with the East Riding that I've forgotten which twinned place was where. I think Reykjavik in Iceland is another off the top of my head.

Hull is twinned with, Freetown (Sierra Leone), Niigata (Japan), Raleigh, North Carolina (USA), Reykjavik (Iceland), Rotterdam (Netherlands) and Szczecin (Poland).

If we're twinned with all those places, are they twinned with each other? And shouldn't we be septuplets?
