Wrong way round, the supporters will get the level and standard of players according to how many turn up to watch and how much they pay. The Allams still wont care.
I’m sure I read somewhere it was decided that we weren’t going to announce the attendance while in the PL as there wasn’t much point compared to other teams in the league at the time. Or something to that effect. Embarrassment, it was out of embarrassment I’m sure.
It wowed visiting Walsall and Boston fans in the early years at the KC, but soon become cringeworthy at Championship level. The bombastic and bragging tone of Steve Jordan is also very much lower league stuff. He needed crooking 15 years ago. Proper announcer in the midst of all the plastic and bindipping.
Our average gate in the 4th tier was higher than our biggest attendance in the Championship this season (even with fiddled gates!)
One thing that they clearly excel at is ‘how to decimate a football club’, what I don’t understand is how they expect to get every penny of their £50M back on that basis. Fools.
I think they gave up on that £50m a long time ago and since then their sole focus has been on revenge.
Revenge for what though Kemps, the realisation, in the eyes of the FSF, the EFL, The FA and many others, that the support have made them look like the total fools that they clearly are? Revenge always comes at a cost, the eventual price that they will pay will hopefully amount to much more than £50M.
They stopped announcing it around the 80th minute on the tannoy but it still used to appear on the screens up until this season.
