I think the 3.50 at Gowran on paper does come down to Sizing Europe and First Lieutenant, but neither are usually at their best at this time of the year and perhaps they ought to be considered carefully. First Lieutenant is likely to run well in a race or two in the early autumn before the ground gets soft and wet for the winter, as he hates soft ground. You will then see him reappear in the spring freshened up and lined up for a race at Cheltenham. So he will probably be fit and ready to do himself justice early on in the season whereas this will be a good blow of the cobwebs for Sizing Europe, who will have much more important races coming up.

I think My Girl Anna 11/2 in the 4.10 Ascot looks a cracking bet. Can't see her out of the first 3.

Very much looking forward to the chasing debut of Moon Dice at Gowran Park. The best of these over hurdles, last years Galway Hurdle winner has always looked as if he would be better over fences and I've had a good chunk on at 4/1

Had a real near miss on a yankee today

Last Mohican won
Ultra sonic 2nd
Moones my Name won
To make worse i think Ultra sonic was only beaten by the draw as the winner had a much easier run, Ultrasonic made up about 61/2 of 7 lengths in the final 2 furlongs.

oh well a nice win anyhow.
