Agreed, I am going to have to go round the offices and see whether they have any of the animated racing on from places like Frankel Park. Looking ahead to Royal Ascot, I see that Flaming Spear is amongst the 81 entered for Wednesday’s Royal Hunt Cup; and currently trading at 25/1 according to OddsChecker. Obviously since the limit for the handicap is about 26, there are going to be a lot balloted out and the betting will shorten. Assuming that Flaming Spear is an intended runner his handicap mark of 105 means he would definitely get in but at the top end of the weights. Is it worth risking the draw to get the odds? Surely it would be asking too much to win this first time out...
Daughter and future son in law( if he’s lucky) going to Chester today. Any tips, info or fancies appreciated. Thanks in advance. I’ve told her stall 1 or 2 every race. Good luck all. Great weather for it!!!!!!
Won't make them rich but Marie's Diamond & Istanbul Sultan in the first two races ought to be winning and also Mikmak in the 4:20
Hope they have a great day out, Karlos. Hope you are as lucky as we are with a son-in-law, turned out to be a real good guy, and knows exactly how to handle our daughter, who, to be honest, can be a tad 'difficult' at times (like her Papa ). I would say SimonJ and Ekbalco are your best advisors for Chester. Think both are on the Chester Racecourse board of directors?
Thanks Swany, glad your son in law a good guy. Ours is a nice fella for an Everton fan lol. Can’t have it all hey? All the best mate
Have to agree with you Carlos;- my basic rule-of thumb;- a) Low draw (obvious) b) Dr Marwan colours (trying to adopt the place) c) Franny on any seemingly under-achievers (something of a sharp course specialist) Very basic I know, and far more informed opinion on this thread, but a start-point nonetheless. I wish them well.
Thanks all for your insight on Chester. I’ve passed it on and I’m going to have a little go myself. Thanks again, good luck all
Well it looks like the forum has Chester all sorted 2.10 Marie's Diamond 2.40 Istanbul Sultan 3.10 Highland Pass 3.45 Fool for you 4.20 Mikmak 4.55 Spirit of Wedza 5.30 Lorelina That just leaves another six meetings to go through!
