I think War Poet could run a big race in the big handicap at donny. His win at doncaster earlier in the season has strong Form. Horses behind now rated near hundred. He has been a bit unlucky and Im not convinced conditions have suited. I think 33s is a good price. Im looking forward to the Elite too. Balder succes is getting some Big weight off zarkander, who Im not sure will be fully wound up. He was sent off lower in the betting than prospect Wells for the triumph juvenile at chelts and given his falls the Last twice Its difficult to Know how good he is. This is a small field which will hell his jumping so i might have a dabble. Best of luck too all.
Simmo, that november is tough race to pick 2nd and 3rd, Glee gets of The Tiger to ride VoodoPrince which fallon has got off to ride Kirt Hill, GDC text me Communicator early in the week,,,, but its all about PnMKT's First Mohican for me
Well played your lot last night Dan - look a really good, well balanced team. We couldn't keep hold of the ball
Heisenburg, your right Its a tough race. First mohican is clearly the class horse. Im just a little put off by the stats regarding faves in this. I just fancy a small bet at the prices on war Port Abs an each way double on that and dorcas Lane. Good luck on First mohican
28K mate think you must have brought more than 2k, Mogga is on a role and has them playing with confidence its all down to him, Gibson rang Downing and he was willing to come back on loan but Liverpool blocked it, in hind sight maybe a good thing coz apart fron Woody they are all new boys plying their trade and doing well
Gents. Good morning to you all. 3.25 Wincanton Mic's Delight 12/1 each way Right handed track specialist.
A very interesting runner for Willie Mullins in the Naas bumper. Mr Magnier no less. His first for the yard?
Coolmore have had a fair few runners in the NH sphere Bob, most of them have been utter ****e I think they've had a couple with Mullins in the past, although I couldn't name you one.
Just in off the text "Danno Listen We run a nice sort called City Slicker in the bumper. He has a lovely pedigree and goes well enough at home. If he handles the testing conditions he will give a good account of himself. Tell ODDY he owes me big time when this rolls in and by the way thank fuk that arkle has been booted off god bless Ron for that, but listen get WLYT's back that fella is robing them bookies, stay frosty big fella see ya at chelts"
City Slicker is a full brother to Carrigmartin (official chase rating 138) and Passlands (who has done nowt so far) - you'd think they have high hopes for him to send him to Mullins. 2/1 2nd fav behind the McManus horse at the moment
Kid Cassidy and Bellvano both started off in those colours as well. I expect Mr McManus to own him next season if he is any good. AP off to Sandown after the first two races at Wincanton today. Although prices of his rides are ****TT
This Doncaster meeting today must be one of the hardest card of the season, oh well a challenge is a challenge. Doncaster 2.00 Cubanita 9-1 2.35 First Mohican 7-2 3.10 Seroius Prospect 5-1 3.45 Louis the Pious 7-1 All best odds Guaranteed
Saturday comp. picks: 12.25 Kelso Green Flag - Lucinda Russell is carrying on the good work from last season and the Milan gelding Green Flag was a convincing winner on his hurdles debut over 2m4f on Heavy ground at Hexham. His Dam sire is Un Desperado, who has sired the likes of Maljimar and Desperate Dex, so his pedigree is packed full of stamina and the step up to 2m6f should bring out further improvement. 2.05 Kelso Blenheim Brook - another Lucinda Russell runner who enjoyed a decent novice season last term and will strip much fitter for his seasonal reappearance. He looks handily weighted off 130 today and he looks capable of taking this. 2.15 Wincanton King Of The Night - Harry Fry's inmate made a decent chase debut when not beaten far by Carlito Brigante and Domtaline at Cheltenham and can get off the mark here. A fascinating contest which I'm sure will throw up plenty of winners in the future. 2.50 Wincanton Balder Succes - Alan King's unexposed gelding gets in off a nice weight here and I think he is destined for big things this season. The Nicholls triumverate will be difficult to beat but I think this lad has a real touch of class and he gets my vote. 3.25 Wincanton Michel Le Bon - very few miles on the clock for a 9YO and 140 still looks a nice mark. Best of luck everyone
1.20 Thanks For That - Experience over fences could be the key, and I take him to beat the short favourite Overturn. 6/1 2.40 - Stagecoach Pearl - Very likeable horse, ran a good race in the Old Roan Chase when making the running and should outclass this field today. 15/8 3.25 - Zarrafakt - The yard are beginning to get wins, this horse goes well fresh and he is a Course and Distance winner to boot. 5/1
Good man Nassau taking my advice. Nice to see you around on the forum PAUL NICHOLLS RUNNERS TODAY (FROM BETFAIR) 12:35 Wincanton - Mr Mole Always showed us a lot at home and won his bumper in good style at Hereford. Was sold to Mr McManus afterwards, the first horse he has had with me, so I was obviously very pleased to see him win on his hurdling debut at Exeter last month. The runner-up had finished second in a Grade 1 bumper in Ireland on his previous start, so hopefully that form is decent. Carries a 6lb penalty here but is a really nice prospect. 13:20 Sandown - Polisky Everyone is running for second place if Overturn takes to fences, but there are only four runners and we take our chance. The worsening ground wouldn't have been in his favour at Kempton last time but he ran well enough, and can hopefully improve on that, particularly if there is no more rain as he is best on good or fast ground. But, then again, if the ground really does worsen then Overturn may not run! 14:15 Wincanton - Poungach Was obviously a very talented hurdler last season, not that far off the top level, but chasing has always been the plan for this horse. So it was very disappointing to see him to come to grief at the first at Chepstow last time, overjumping, slipping and falling. But he remains a horse of some potential and Ruby schooled him on Wednesday and he looks none the worse for the experience. This looks a decent Grade 2 contest, though. 14:50 Wincanton - Zarkandar A word of warning. He is not the sort to do a lot at home, so his fitness is pretty hard to gauge, but I'd be pretty sure he will need this and be all the better for the outing, win, lose or draw. Not least because I am training him with a view to the International at Cheltenham next month, and not this race. And I always like to see my horses get back into the swing of things on the track after a heavy fall, and his fall at Aintree was certainly a nasty one. But his record tells us he goes well when fresh, so he may surprise, I suppose. I trained him to win the Betfair Hurdle on his reappearance and his class was there for all to see when he stayed on strongly to finish 5th in the Champion Hurdle. Prospect Wells This is probably the one I would prefer of my three on this occasion, especially if there is plenty of cut in the ground and it rains overnight. His mark looks plenty high enough but it is probably justified on his fifth in the Supreme. Hopefully, there is more to come from him this season and I have him pretty straight for this. Escort'men He won first time out at Chepstow off this mark two seasons ago, so he is capable. But the main aim here is to restore his confidence after a fall chasing last time. Horses coming back to the smaller obstacles can sometimes run above themselves, but I would be surprised were he good enough to win this, in truth. 15:25 Wincanton - Michel Le Bon He has had his problems down the years but he is a horse I still believe in. Perhaps not to the extent that I think he will be winning Grade 1 races, but he has a workable mark off 140 and I have trained him for this race ever since he came in. He disappointed on his first two starts last season, including when too fresh and free when we fancied him in the Hennessy, but he came good in a handicap hurdle on his final start. Ruby schooled him on Wednesday. Any rain would be a bonus for him. No Loose Change Was impressive when winning at Newbury but that was an uncompetitive race and he paid for the wide-margin win with a steep rise up the weights. Ran poorly when pulled up at Fakenham last time, where I think the track was too sharp. Has at least been dropped 3lb since then, but he probably is still up against it here. 16:00 Wincanton - Foggy's Wall Has been placed in both his bumpers at Taunton and Bangor, and that level of form puts him in with chances here. He is related to lots of winners, and will hopefully continue to progress with his racing. 16:05 Sandown - The Mobb By Westerner, and the first foal of quite a well-related mare. As ever, I don't expect too much from by bumper runners first time up. And this looks a pretty hot race. But he goes well enough at home and hopefully can give us something to build on here.
I thought WLYTs was worse than Arkle. Wha he had ta rite lyk this ah wil nevah knooow but was cannae annooyin banning him? JOB DONE
