Haven't seen anything on SAFC.com. Wonder if this is just rumours and may explain the other nights performance. Something's gone on behind closed doors and maybe Sanderson had just said sod it, my backs knackered
You're suggesting he's faking injury to avoid playing?

All I'm saying is it's not mentioned on SAFC.com but it's appeared from somewhere and people are taking it as gospel. Plus is there anyone who's never phoned in sick with a bad back?
Johnson's press conference is tomorrow. He'll no doubt confirm or deny the story then. I don't see any need for a story on the club's website.
It's not unusual for stories of injuries to be leaked by people at the club. Happened loads over the years

True. Until it's confirmed, I'll take it with a pinch of salt.

DION SANDERSON could miss the remainder of the season with the back problem that was troubling him during Tuesday’s 2-1 defeat at Wigan Athletic.
Sanderson played the full 90 minutes as the Black Cats lost at the DW Stadium, but Lee Johnson conceded after the game that he was complaining of pain in his back.
Sunderland’s medical staff have been assessing the problem in the last 48 hours, and Sanderson is not expected to be involved in Saturday’s crucial game against promotion rivals Blackpool.
It is feared the issue could take a few weeks to resolve, placing a question mark over Sanderson’s availability for all six of the Wearsiders’ remaining matches plus any future play-off games.

In steps Younger to thunderous applause (Lynott).

I don't get this at all.

Connor went off so we put a not quite fit Bailey in at CB alongside Sanderson, who was already struggling with a back problem and moved 09 from CH to RB!

Why not just keep Luke and Sanderson at CB, keep Wright on the bench and move Power back in at RB?

We have more midfield options than defensive ones so it would have made sense!

Apparently he was having issues with his back prior to the Wigan game, so what the **** was Johnson doing playing him?! Poor management imo and he’s now out for the rest of the season. Ridiculous decision.

Not a chance Younger gets a chance either. Will be O’Nien and Wright at CB
you may be right but this is a major opportunity to blood one of our own, i will be disappointed if he doesn't do that, even bringing him off the bench if it's not going good, at least give him some pitch time. but i'm afraid you could be right this close to the last few games

We need a natural centre half in there and O’Nien at right back. Thought he looked dangerous at times going forward against Wigan and offers a lot more there than Power.

man that was a very silly decision to make, now we will probably miss him for the rest of the season when he is so crucial to us, i don't see anything about medical advice being sought before he named him in the starting line up, so i just hope he didn't come to that decision without medical advice,Man three years we get so close and it comes crashing down around our ears ,i hope the guys coming in can play a blinder
