This Kouyate from Anderlecht comes up regularly. Selling club and we've supposedly tracked him for quite some time. Only problem is he is under contract until 2016. Not really our style! I'd like to see our next central defensive signing be a commanding figure, preferably with experience of British football.

Erm. Chris Samba?

That's the one.
_____________

Chris Samba is currently at the centre of a tug of war between West Ham and Newcastle, according to the Daily Express.

The 29-year-old defender is ready to end his time in Russia and move to England for a third time.

Homesick Samba first moved to England in 2007 when Blackburn Rovers snapped him up for a cut price £450k.

But after five years at Ewood Park he left these shores for moneybags Anzhi Makhachkala when his contract ran out.

His time in Russia was believed to be strained by the fact that his young family had not moved over with him.

The Congolese defender returned to the Premier League at the start of this year after QPR forked out £12m for him in a bid to avoid the drop into the Championship.

Their survival campaign failed, though, and Samba returned to Anzhi for a similar fee in the summer only to be shipped out to current club Dinamo Moscow weeks later.

Reports in Russia suggest Samba has failed to settle again and the club are in negotiations with West Ham and Newcastle about a move back to the Premier League.

Erm. Chris Samba?

I am talking about a real commanding figure, a proper leader. He is not a leader, always been an unsettling presence. Money is his focus. Someone in the mould of his old mucker Ryan Nelsen would be good.
