Following our heroics in mid-week against WBA which saw us scrape into the ¼final draw of the FA Cup, we swiftly return to league action a Southampton side who sit 2 points above us in the table.

Other than Clark, Dummett, Krafth and Carroll we have full compliment of players for the manager to pick from for this one.

According to NUFC.com it's 360 mins since we last scored a premier league goal, about the same number of days since JoeLinton last scored one....hopefully both of those stats will change tomorrow afternoon.

Kick off is 3pm at St Mary's in Southampton (not the nut-house in Toon), the match is not on UK telly but there are a number of overseas channels showing the game for those of you that way inclined.

Graham Scott is the twat in the black this week, VAR duties will be performed by Peter Bankes

We need to get back amongst the goals and hopefully our midweek exploits will aid our cause, for that reason I'm going for a nervy 2-1 win to the Toon. JoeLinton and Miggy on the scoresheet for us.

Eric Bana must have really regretted doing the Hulk before Marvel got involved. Ruffalo is super minted off the back of it. Supposedly Ed Norton didn't get the job because they didn't like working with him. Must be a bit of **** for all he's a great actor. Supposedly Katherine Heigl is a complete ****. She's a **** actor too which makes me wonder how she is still getting plenty of gigs. Perhaps she can suck a golf ball through a hose pipe? (cue some snowflake getting offended)

Very little of the above has anything to do with Southampton vs Newcastle which probably tells you a lot about the respective entertainment level the two teams are capable of providing.

Reckon we will get a lift from our cup win and produce an unexpected away win. Southampton have been conceeding quite a lot of goals at home. Going with a 3-2 win for us.

Proper team for a further development of the sexy football we all glimpsed last week. If Almiron takes his chances today. Nice win 3-1.
