Alan Shearer: "Well, you've got to take the positives from the game. And the positives for England was Adam Lallana and that Wilshere has had his last chance."

Corrected for you. Can't allow Wilshere to run into people any more he is useless.

Hopefully! Unless Roy didn't picked him because he is certain Cleverly will go?

Steady on! I just think there are too many players ahead of him, rather than the fact he didn't play. Baines didn't play either and clearly will go, but I don't think you can really apply the same logic to Cleverley.

I don't rate him at all. Yes it is wrong to boo him if you go to see England play. But for me he isn't that good. Hopefully Roy can see this.

He's played well in the past, for Wigan and for England (and even United in previous seasons), so the criticism he gets is pretty harsh and there can be no excuse for booing our own players, but yeah, right now his form is not good enough.

Can't see Cleverley ever being good enough for England, or United for that matter, and he'd be wise to move to a smaller club.

I don't really understand the criticism of Wilshere. He's a decent midfielder and definitely belongs in the squad.

And he's young and will only get better.

In all honesty, I have watched Wilshere on a vast number of occasions and have given him the benefit of the doubt, but I have never seen him put in an effective performance. He is on the floor more times than he is on the ball. Don't understand the hype about him being a 'great young English talent'. Think he is a poor excuse for a footballer.

Agree on Cleverley. He is a neat and tidy player. Keeps decent possession but rarely threatens and isn't going to dominate teams physically so is shy defensively. If we're going to pack the midfield and sit behind the ball then he could help do a job, but his limitations as a footballer hold him back from being effective at International level and at the top of the premier league. As much as I love Cork for Saints and I think he is playing better than Cleverly I think he could find that level of competition too much to make a truly positive impact.

Wilshere is a talented midfielder, but he has a case of the Ramirez. Another injury and his injury prone nature will not help his cause. I thought he was a little foolish to go for that challenge yesterday and even more foolish to carry on.
