I wonder if Scott Sinclair would fancy a move - type of player we could do with and is just bench warming at Man City, so could be a useful loan if nothing else

You're probably right there. He could play on the right though and cut inside, like Puncheon always seems to do. He has had some game time this season, and I think he signed a new deal recently so he's probably going nowhere.

Anyone fancy Niang on loan if Super Mario goes to AC Milan? If he goes to Juve they will have 6 out and out strikers at the club as well so should be someone available at least on loan.
I really hope we can make a deal for a player of real quality to come in just to galvanize things and give us extra quality/options.

p.s. I see that Guly is out injured for a few weeks. Intensifies the need for a wide player. Redmond the value for money British choice for me although wouldn't say no to Ince (expensive though!). Adomah looked very handy for Ghana last night as well.

I know absolutely nothing about Niang, other than him being incredible on Football Manager, although a quick look at Wikipedia shows he has only scored 6 goals in his career so far....hmmm...did a lot better for me on my last FM save
I am also concerned about Guly being out, if Lallana suffers a reoccurrence of his injury or is nowhere near fit enough we are looking at the very real possibility of having to put De Ridder in the starting line-up.....gulp!

Not so sure about this. Drogba and Sneijder have just gone to play in Turkey on massive wages and Fenerbache themselves have got players like Meireles, Moussa Sow, Kuyt and Krasic on their books. Don't think they are short of a bob or two.
We may yet get someone else, but MP has said he doesn't want to sign just anyone...has to be good enough. I wouldn't be surprised if the decision is made that we are okay for this season with plenty of money available for the summer when Mauricio will have a good idea who he wants.
Hence the exclamation mark, the league was in big trouble last year, owners going bust etc but they are all throwing money around again. Crazy times
I agree and agree with the club's reasoning. My issue is that I think we need an extra player or two (even if it's on loan so the big money can be spent in the summer) in order to cover all eventualities. It would be gut wrenching if we did go down due to lack of depth and looked back on January as a "what if".
Fans always want to see their club bring in players in the transfer window. If we were top of the league or had a team like Barcalona we would still want to sign someone. That is the excitment of the transfer window. Like MP has said we'll only get someone if they are good enough to play for us and can offer something to the team.

Could be right about a loan. Any signing would have to be good for the future, but a loanee could be used mainly in emergency.
Or a loaner could be useful if a target we want, we can't have til the summer. Like a stop gap.
Must say I'm generally happy with the team but feel completely uninspired by the fact we haven't got anyone in apart from Forren, we have gambled in changing the manager which I think will pay off but to gamble with the team and not add some extra depth is a bad move...do we all believe we aren't getting anyone or do we think Cortese is going to have a power 24 hours and sign 1 or 2?
