Agree with you that he's not exactly going to say he wants to overhaul the team, but how do you conclude he has lost the dressing room? Chaplow and Clyne have already tweeted to say they're looking forward to working with him.

Probably worded that wrong

I didn't mean to say he had lost the dressing as such, but with the strange circumstances of coming in to a happy and what has been a successful dressing room. He comes in having to win over the players more rather than coming in to resucue the team, he has a little bit to prove to them. It would be foolish of him to upset that by saying he needs loads of new faces.

No, we certainly don't. Well, it won't take long for him to strike up an understanding with Ramirez obviously, and I'm pretty sure that Fonte and Guly will speak spanish, or at least have a good grasp so will help with interpreting. Still, Maurizzio needs to find time to learn English.

Indeed he does. According to Henry Winter of the Telegraph, Pochettino understands English and promises to speak it soon. Can understand why he didn't want to risk anything being lost in translation in such an important press conference to be fair.

Ok, yeah fair point <ok>

Exactly, as well as continuing to want to stay in the division, they'll also all want to prove themselves to the new manager. I don't see how they could be demotivated.

Depends. If he starts tweaking things and players dislike the changes, there's a pretty good chance that they'll start feeling a bit demotivated or demoralized. It took us a few months, but we found a good attack/defense balance, with the two CMs playing in a rather deep role; Pochettino apparently likes to push very high up the pitch. If players struggle to adapt, or he starts chopping and changing the elements of the lineup that have worked, you don't think that it might have a negative impact on morale?

None of this is the new mans fault. We are all gutted but as PTF and others have said we may look back at this as a harsh but constructive decision.

I would expect a signing from Spain/Italy/Argentina before the end of the window, hopefully he has found some good players scouting recently.

That'll get the fans back on side! A manager 95% of fans hadn't heard of before today and a signing 99% of fans hadn't heard of before this week.

None of this is Forren's fault. Welcome to the Saints...we might be a bit rowdy on Monday, but it's not personal.

P.s. just noted the covers on in the background. They've been cleared off, so game should be on if no more snow.

The king is dead, Long live the king!

I love what Adkins has done for this club and we owe him a debt of gratitude for the last couple of years. But Saints are more than just one man and whether I agree with the decision or not, I support this club.

I am also grateful for all that Nicola has done for us; like convincing Liebherr to invest. He is no Lowe as some have suggested elsewhere.

Onwards and upwards.
