The Daily Fail has us in with a near £6million bid for Phillips. Don't think we need him plus at the moment he's in hospital!
I think Phillips is one of the most obvious transfers for us Nigel has wanted him for ages just like the Rod, I imagine he would be the only attacker we being in though?
You mean take his place on the bench?
I agree though, another legitimate winger in the squad would be nice.

With Mayuka (who's a striker anyway) out on ACON duty we only really have Puncheon for the right flank, and no cover. Phillips could easily provide that and then some.
I think he would be a very good addition. Would prefer Ince but he may well be on his way to Old Trafford.
OK can see that. Question is though do you want to spend a fortune on a player currently injured?
Agree that this thread is pretty pointless at the moment but enjoy browsing it anyway!
A lot depeds on our league position come January as to who we can attract and sell the "vision" too. I'm optimistic that we will be in a stronger position in January than we are now and that we can attract a couple of the big(ish) name players we have talked about at the back as well as a right winger to compete and compliment. This, along with the emergence of several youth players as at least back up this season, will mean that we can move players like Chaplow, De Ridder/Guly, Seabourne, Kelvin Davis etc on. An exciting January in which i hope we sign no more than 3/4 players but players of real quality who will improve the balance of the side and squad.

The author has conveniently forgotten how Blackpool tumbled down the PL and ended up getting relegated.
Very aware of that mate, which is exactly why I said we need another legitimate winger in the squad because right now we only have Puncheon and De Ridder (Who I think a lot of people hope will be going the other way in January) and to a slightly lesser extent Lallana and Ramirez and then makeshift strikers-cum-wingers like Mayuka, JRod, Lee. And that group becomes even thinner if we lose Mayuka. I could have worded my post better, apologies.
