Is it about time that Claude had a song and not the ubiquitous " One *insert current manager's name*"
What about one based on La Marseilles, a la "Ooh aah Cantona"?

Could be something like...

"March on, march on.
Puels's red army,
The Saints are marching on"

I heard a couple in Milan... neither were great:

Je m'applle, Claude Puel (to albion, albion) and repeat.

And to come feel the noise:

So **** off Ronald Koeman,
So **** off Ronald Koeman,
We've got Claude Pu-eeellllll
We've got Claude Pu-eeellllll

Like I say neither are great... probably why they haven't caught on <laugh>

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp said he is determined to protect Ben Woodburn after the teenager replaced Michael Owen as the club's youngest goalscorer.

Klopp said "I am determined that we keep him here and don't lose him to Southampton, as they have the best youngsters in the country. If he goes there, we will have to buy him back for at least £50 million and then we will ruin him"

Maybe I made that up, but it would be funny :)

No, he really said that but the sport media reported it so that it favoured Liverpool and ignored us.

Highlights about Fonte from Puel's interview....I admit I never listen to Puel's interviews, prefer to wait for snippets. Sorry, Claude. :)

He says Jose's contract situation is private. It confirms what came out at the time that the new contract was a pay rise, but not an extension. I can see why Fonte might be concerned and would prefer to look elsewhere for a longer contract....especially when the team concerned is a good one. The question is why wouldn't he sign a contract for more money....I suspect he would think that morally he'd have to stay if he signed and he now feels it is time to move on.

Towards the end, Puel explains why Fonte doesn't feature in all the games. He says Jose played with full energy in the Everton game and the coaches are trying to make sure that players are at their peak in every game....hence the rotation. Sentimentally, I'd still like to see Jose play in one of our Europa games.

Jose is certainly getting to the age where his recovery would certainly be improved if it was allowed to carry on for more than 3 days. In contrast, Virgil is young enough to play at his best every 3 days with ease. Finally, we have a CB who is Jose's equal partner, at the very least. In the background we have Maya, Florin [eventually], and Dale Stephens. I can hardly remember us being so well equipped with quality CBs.

Going back a few years there, I feel, regarding DALE Stephens!

Saw Boufal park his Range Rover in a disabled bay at Waitrose in Winchester last night...
Should I have told him off?

Ah, the famous ear-cupping goal, where he looked around at the lack of roar - there was a huge contingent of Portsmouth fans right in front of him giving him v-signs, language, the lot. As he ran away the ref censured him for inciting the crowd. He apologised and scratched his arse at the Pompey fans instead.

My first derby... brilliant night :)

The league game a few weeks later was better. Dodd from the corner.

His goal too, whatever any official says. There is on-the-line video proof out there too. Might have even downloaded it to remind myself when the memory became foggy.

Under today's ruling, that's his goal. Or it would be if Wayne Rooney was taking it.

Blimey, that's a tough one. Oriel has been immense, but he's made one error. Virgil has been incredible, but he's made a few errors too. Ryan has been utterly brilliant as usual - such a smart defender. And Frazer must have been bored most of the time. But when he wasn't he stopped everything it was possible to stop. If I could have two wishes it would be...

1] Let them all be POTM
2] Get all the commentators and co-commentators tied down on chairs with spotlights shone in their faces until they guarantee that they will no longer say Frazer Foster, but Frazer Forster.! Yes, Whispering Dave, you're guilty of it too.
