I need help! I've picked my fantasy football team but now need a name with a Saints connection. I had Fonte of all Knowledge last year and was going to have Pelle-not-Pele this but now I'm stuck. Any (preferably polite!) suggestions?

Go on holiday for 2 weeks on the 11th August. Which idiot picked that date so I miss first game of the season

It was me

Special £10 tickets for members for the Sunderland match. Promotion to encourage joining as members...don't care, suits me.
Misleading announcement on OS...says discounted ticket £10 for members....actually £10 off! Decent offer, but not what it says.

And in case you thought it was just me not understanding. Poster on Ugly Inside thought the same.

Yep, me too. I screenshotted it. My old man bought a membership because he thought he could get a £10 ticket for this one.

Now he's shelled out £49 to be able to go and he's not best pleased.

They've altered it on the OS now. They always say if it is too good to be true, it probably is. A discount makes more sense as you would get membership for £15 rather than £25 if you went to the Sunderland game. Saves me going now because I didn't really want to go on that weekend, but couldn't resist. I suspect your Dad could get his money back if he complained...though membership can be useful.

He thinks the membership is useful but feels mislead because Saints had been promoting this as 'get a membership and your ticket is only £10' and now he's been hit with a £24 ticket. £24 isn't astronomical but it's over double what he was told to expect to pay in the announcement.

I imagine a few folk at Saints will be getting a bollocking over this.

My father's now cancelled his purchase of the Sunderland tickets. After being told we could have a full refund on the membership but still pay the price with the £10 discount as a goodwill gesture for the mistake, we've now had a call from the ticket office manager saying we can only have a part-refund and even then we have to pay the difference to pay full price for the tickets, with no discount.

A very disappointing experience, if I'm honest. I thought Saints would handle it far better than that.
