I used my ST number in the shop in April to get the discount. Go back and tell her she lied.

I did quote you and said that fatletiss said it would be ok. I did hear here whispering to her supervisor saying "whisper, whisper, fatletiss, whisper". It was then the discount was applied :)

I think it was that they haven't updated 'their systems' from last year. I did hold my ground though and politely made sure she checked with others. All the time the queue was getting bigger and you could see the light bulbs lighting up on others :)

I told my mate he must have too much money as after the wait and 2 people we saw, he said was that hassle really worth a fiver....

I did point out that I bet on Saturday he does the same :)

We need to employ more of those young foreign workers from the EU. They are quick, polite and they work their bollocks off. On the other hand we could employ local kids who will not get out of bed until three in the afternoon, will expect top wages because they "are worth it" and then will spend all the time they are at work on their smart phones texting inane crap to their friends who are still at home in bed.

^^^Post reported for generalisations against young people.

I should have used a :)

I was tongue firmly in cheek.

*you can tell you worked in retail Fran. Sticking up for you fellow kind :)
Absolutely. I had some man shouting at me the day I was found to have a heart rate of 200 and was told to avoid shocks. An absolute bully....and I was someone known to have no trouble with customers. I never went back to work. Most customers are lovely, but some men, and it is usually older men, try to prove their manhood by being unpleasant to those that can't answer back.

I always like to treat people serving me in retail (shop or restaurant) with respect. They’re doing a job. I do push back (politely) if I don’t think I’m getting the service I pay for though.

This week I bought my daughter a new laptop. The service from the two very young lads, was wonderful. Kept asking if it was ok if we waited whilst a colleague served someone else. Very, very good and I told them.

Should you ever have the pleasure to meet me Fran you will discover that I am the most polite and considerate old man you are ever likely to meet. You will also discover that I never tell the truth.
